I stayed at the San Carlos for 3 nights while attending a conference. The staff were really friendly and the hotel itself looks great from the outside with some great touches on the inside with pictures describing the history of the hotel and Phoenix itself. However the down side. My room while having a comfy bed had no air conditioning...

I 100% loved everything about the hotel, the staff was great and the history and detail of the hotel was amazing. I also loved the amazing view of downtown and having the bank right across! And also the pool was amazing and loved the way it was all set up! Thank you, want to stay there again!

I have been in Downtown Phoenix on several occasions and had always wanted to stay at the Hotel San Carlos. I finally had the chance and booked a business stay. The room itself was a bit on the small side, as I had to squeeze between the bed and TV to get to one side of the room. However, my...

I was in town for a conference at the convention center, and this hotel did have a good location for walking where I needed to go. They include free wifi that's too slow to even pull up Google for a basic search, and the room TV was pretty upgraded with channels and good sound quality. That is really where the...

If you like staying in historic hotels and don't mind a bathroom around the size of a closet, this place is for you. It is well located downtown and the room was clean and on the third floor there are interesting details on the history of the hotel and the background to a possible ghost that haunts it (I didn't...

We had about 15 girls with us for my downtown bachelorette party and this location was prime. We were able to bar hop around down town and finish the night at the Irish pub next door. Customer service was friendly and prompt. The rooms are full of character and charm. If you are looking for a modern style hotel experience...

Food in the first floor is good. Staff are good. But the total hotel condition is not really considerable. One can clearly hear the noise made from other room. The wifi signal from the 4th floor was very very poor for all the time. Yes, even worse than the one from airport. I agreed that this is a very historical...

Stopped at Rice Paper for lunch and happy hour. The food and service was amazing. We tried a variety of foods and loved them all. The patio has comfy chairs and we were out of the sun. Josue is great. Would we go back? In a NY minute... bonus... best happy hour downtown and it's on the light rail...

"haunted" downtown Phoenix location, I'll start with the Pros...It is charming and very clean. It is close to everything downtown and is a reasonable price. The Wi-Fi was free and the rooftop pool seemed to be a great spot to relax. If you are staying here by yourself, it is not too bad. The bed was comfortable and although the...

“The best room is at another hotel”
  • Tiny bathroom with towel rack inconveniently over the toilet
  • Classic subway tiles in the shower that have not been maintained
  • Relatively small room. Double occupancy would feel pretty cramped
  • Vents over the doors to EVERY sound seeps into your room
  • My beautiful view from my room of a disgusting rooftop
