This place is fabulous. I have stayed here twice and both times have been wonderful. The staff is great, the amenities are wonderful, and the location is superb. They are so hospitable and I love that they provide games to play. It is such a wonderful, relaxing getaway. Dogs are always welcome!

If you want a fancy hotel then this is not the place for you but......if you want a nice place in the pines with a fireplace, dishes & stove to cook with or just down the road from a restaurant - this is ABSOLUTELY awesome. Staff is very nice and other guests were friendly & respectful. Like I said, we... More

Stayed at motel cabin. Location near hiking. Quiet in the woods. Staff friendly. Affordable. But grounds are pretty run down. The trail bunks were clean, and the loft was cool for our kids. But the bedding was old, unappealing and uncomfortable. Not the worst place we have ever stayed, but it isn't likely we would come back.

Pick another hotel in Payson! WAY overpriced for old, dumpy cabins. Our cabin leaked after a rainstorm. Creepy place ...we did not feel safe. These owners are making a killing on these " historic" cabins. Buyer Beware. Beware: you must bring EVERYTHING if you stay, they supply next to nothing in the cabin.

This is my families first time coming here after being referred to this place (repeatedly) by friends of our that are "regulars". Absolutely adored our little cabin in the woods. It was great to be able to do our own home cooked meals right in our own cabin (although we did eat at a nice restaurant across the street once... More

We had a great stay at Pioneer Cabin 3 at Christopher Creek Lodge. Very rustic and a perfect getaway from Phoenix. We enjoyed the cool weather and the change of seasons (something we miss here in Phoenix). Our cabin was right on the creek but just on the other side of the creek was the main road. A little noisy... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here on September 30, 2016. We stayed in one of the motel cabins. It was perfect for the 2 of us. The room was clean and comfortable. The TV was nice and had some decent stations available. It was nice to get away from the city and the heat for the night. We especially liked... More

We spent the weekend in one of the rustic cabins. The cabin was very comfortable and accommodated 6 adults well. The cabin was clean and a short drive from Phoenix. You can be up in the pines in less than 2 hours. The people are very friendly and helpful. We loved it so much that we have booked 2 more... More

I'm not a tent and sleeping bag kind of guy and this was perfect! I stayed in the Pony Express motel area, a rustic room with a very nice bed with a loft with more sleeping accommodations. The area is thick with pine trees, oak trees and squirrels, which are so entertaining to watch. Good mountain biking trails close by... More

I love this place. It is right in the woods just an hour and half drive from Phoenix. I stayed in a cabin right on the creek and my kids had so much fun looking for fish and playing in the creek. Also love that it is only a 15 minute drive to Woods Canyon Lake which is a awesome... More
