Awesome time here. We had a group of five rooms. Spotless and very comfortable. Great employees. Pet friendly and the courtyard is great for a big group to hang out together. Breakfast was typical free buffet breakfast but very fresh and worth a trip. I will be back. Thanks for a great time!

Found this pet-friendly inn on Bring Fido and boy am I ever thankful. Great price, clean rooms, and soft comfy bed pillows. The free breakfast was good for our pre-hike meal. The location was close to our hiking choices in Pine, Arizona and the Mogollon Rim. Our Vizsla dog slept like a dog!

First -- both chronologically and in order of importance -- was the fact that two of the three front-desk clerks I interacted with (and also the one housekeeper that I saw) WERE NOT WEARING MASKS. I don't care if Arizona is a conservative place and that conservatives these days don't believe in medical science. As any doctor or public health professional will tell you, the coronavirus crisis is real and is NOT behind us. It is unconscionable -- and unforgiveable -- that in March 2021 there are businesses in the hospitality industry that don't require their staff to all wear masks. It is also unforgiveable that customers are not required to do so. (Quite a few of my fellow guests were also maskless.) Just as you don't have the "freedom," as an employee or guest, to smoke cigarettes in a hotel lobby, neither do you have the "freedom" to be in a hotel lobby -- a small, enclosed room -- with other people during a global pandemic (and, especially, in a state that has horrible covid-19 numbers) without a mask on your face. Sorry, but the virus is not a hoax, and neither is the science that shows that mask-wearing significantly reduces the virus's contagion. Second, as lovely and large as my room was, the Majestic Mountain Inn is neither majestic nor on a mountain. It's simply a nice motel. The place is vastly overrated and, for its location, quite overpriced.

Stayed one night. Be warned, if you want an extended check out they will charge you $30 for 1 hour, and NOT tell you that at the time of check in. Dispute now with my credit card company. And the beauty of our unexpected charge was the place was almost empty and we left the room only 30 minutes past regular check out. If we had known about the charge we would have left earlier. Dark haired female on reception is extremely rude. Disgusting attitude. Without doubt the worst person I have ever had to deal with while traveling. Why are you even in hospitality? Room was ok. Dark but functional. Room and location a three star review but awful, unhelpful receptionist ruined it. Please find somewhere else to stay. And if you are looking for respect shown to guests by staff wearing masks, then again, stay somewhere else. Truly Awful.

All the options in Payson are 2 star so if you like a more upscale hotel don’t visit here. I’ve stayed in 3 different hotels over the years and this is probably the best choice. Positives: The room was clean Didn’t see any bugs Fireplace is a nice touch-really cozy Lodge like decor Negatives: In the middle of a pandemic they did not take precautions at the free breakfast. Masks not required. No hand sanitizer readily available. Served buffet style with everyone touching the same places First night upon arrival I was given a key to an occupied room. When I opened the door a man was laying on the bed in his underwear and it scared me to death Next day when we left the room our room had no way to lock the door. Maintenance man came to fix it. After he fixed it he said the only kind of key that would now open my door was a master key that fit every room. It’s the key the maids and hotel staff use. I had no intention of using my master key to enter any other rooms but I am sure the other hotel guests would not be happy to know that if I wanted to I could enter their rooms. Made me wi fee how many people had keys to my room? Breakfast buffet, mostly the eggs looked pretty gross...I would have only ate if I was starving to death
