Beautiful property!! Gardens are wonderful- rooms feel very private and are well done. The 2 restaurants, Rita’s and Lincoln steakhouse are delicious! Great food , you can dine outside or inside. We were lucky to have Patsy and Maddie who delivered the best service and both had wonderful personalities. Frank , the manager was hands on, friendly and made sure we were happy with everything. Frank is all over the place checking on guest satisfaction and very interested in the guests story! Would highly recommend this property. The location is close to shopping and very easy to get around using Uber.

Hotel's Favorite
I have been coming here for many years and have written many reviews on the place. We had tried to come fro three years but had to keep postponing due to the pandemic so we were truly excited to get back. The JW Marriott Camelback Inn is absolutely unique. If you want the most luxurious rooms and 6 star service this may not meet your requirements (though it will be close), but if you are looking for something special, with a Southwestern feel and the most beautiful gardens and grounds of any hotel I have stayed in the world then come here. Since our last visit the rooms have been refurbished to a very high standard. Little things like USB charging ports and new furniture and flooring is good, though it has lost a little of the unique southwestern feel ( a bit more corporate than before) but good quality furniture and immaculately clean. The gardens are stunning, and a walk around in the early morning is a treat with humming birds, jack rabbits and quails roaming around undisturbed. The lobby and public areas are fantastic and remind you of the amazing history of this resort. There first ever Marriott resort in the World and a personal favourite of the Marriott family who come every year. We love the peace and quiet (only disturbed by music in the pool area which drowns out the peace and bird sounds that we love so much and we never understand why hotels think we want their choice of music....but they do and I always mention it and nothing changes!). We used the adult pool which was good, with excellent service by the pool team supplying water and drinks for us. Rita';s breakfast is lovely with warm friendly service and what must be the best hash browns in the world! Rita's is good in the evenings as well with some interesting new menus items like Truffle Quesadilla (yummy). Lincoln restaurant serves amazing steaks. We absolutely love this place and cannot wait to go back........... if you want a complete break, and some peace then you will not be disappointed.

Despite an initial hiccup of being assigned a room we couldn't accept (mildew odor), this resort met and exceeded expectations. They resolved the room issue promptly and relocated us to a much better part of the resort, near the pool and dining. As others note, it's very sprawling, so a very remote room wouldn't have been as easy (in 100 degree weather, a two-min. walk to amenities is the way to go!). Some business meetings held in the ballroom, didn't impact our experience. Wonderful deluxe bedding, pretty room (we had the Signature View King Suite). It's an old school, quiet, well thought out resort, modest in scope maybe compared to flashier and bigger resorts, but perfect for our low key preference. The main pool was attractive and well maintained, with lovely poolside servers and good food. Plenty of towels and iced fruited water, perfect in the heat! We enjoyed Rita's for dinner and lunch--great margaritas, killer burger--and especially enjoyed the JW Steakhouse for a fine-dining experience--not a stodgy steak house, either. Fresh and appealing preparations (and service); not inexpensive but worth it. I think less a place for families after boisterous razzle dazzle for the kids--better for couples, and evidently a favorite for young single professionals too.

My stay at the resort was one of the least enjoyable of my previous stays over the years for the Law Conference. First I had given my Marriott Bonvoy number a week ahead of time and along with my room preference, which went very well for I was assigned a room in the area that I had requested. However when arriving to the room, I only had a few minutes to unpack and attend my first meeting that night. When I arrived back to my room later, I noticed that the light was on in the utility closet, I called this in for them to take care of it the next morning. However, leaving my room by 8:30 AM and arriving back later in the evening this was not taken care of. I had to check in at the front desk the following morning to request for a second time that this light was turned off, for it did not work with my sleep. I was told by the front desk person that this is the first she heard of this, and that it would be done. The second concern I had was the main rug was filthy with actual stains in the rug, in which I made sure to wear sandals at all times. The third was that there was apparently a heavy rain my last night stay, for I got up to drink some water at 4:00 AM and found a puddle of water and leaking from the ceiling. I was responsible enough to clean up the puddle, however as the rug was dirty, the floor probably hadn’t being mopped in a month, for the paper towels I used to clean were full of dirt, not from the rain. I stopped by the desk in the morning before my last meeting, told the front desk lady, she apologized and offered me a free coffee, which I don’t drink coffee, however if she was trying to make reparations, then put it on my Bonvoy points, which she did not. The final component of this stay is that I had put my own credit card on for any incidentals, and looking at my credit statement 4 days later I found that I was charged for one of the night’s stay. I called the hotel and was told that the person in charge of this situation was not available, to call back tomorrow morning, which I did and have not hear back as of yet of this posting. My district did get ahold of someone else and apparently the hotel recognized the error and my card was going to be refunded in 3 to 10 business days. I assume that this correction was good enough and reaching out to me personally was not necessary. When you are a hotel and pride yourself on how beautiful your resort is, the impeccable grounds, the fine service, the charming rooms, and exquisite eating venues, then should you not take more responsibility of these errors with a little more professionalism? Apparently I am not granted points for my stay, however I guess what is the point, if staying again is going to be a process of oversights, errors, and creating more efforts by myself, then why would I want to stay here again? Joel

Tyler at the Jackrabbit poolside grill was excellent. He provided very attentive service and enabled me to grab a quick, enjoyable lunch with an amazing view before catching my Uber to the airport. Thanks again.

Had a great stay here in a casita that was even better than normal (room 503). Food was good, conference space was comfortable, staff is friendly and helpful. Real issue is just the heat and this is an old school place that is spread out and you need to walk to get to pools and restaurants. Once you are in the conference space, it is very comfortable.

The resort is beautiful and the staff are friendly, BUT the second time I stayed there with a friend our credit card info was stolen and over $200 worth of charges were used on room service and alcohol. The only reasonable explanation is that an employee stole our info and tried to take advantage of us. Then when we reached out for an explanation, we've had literally no response. They don't seem too worried that their employees are stealing credit card info and attaching it to an empty room and stealing from their customers. They've done absolutely nothing to apologize or make it right. After spending our girls getaway there the last two years, we'll have to find a new location for this next year. If you do stay there, ask for a printout of charges and read it carefully Before you leave!

Spent a week at the resort, having booked a package via Costco Travel. Service was fantastic and attentive. Weekends had a larger crowd, but during the week it was almost like we had the pool to ourselves. All the casitas seemed to be relatively close walking distance wise from the pool. Pool side drinks were pricey, but amazing (The Ambiente was my favorite). Room had very nice beds and sheets. Decent sized compact fridge to keep all our beverages cool. Room seemed to be updated between 2000-2010, though they seemed to have kept the cabinets from before. Also loved the free laundry machines. Was a godsend in the hot Arizona weather.

Hotel was an excellent choice especially during the low season. It was not crowded which made our stay feel extra private. The pool was great and heated to the right temperature. Tim, Brett, Darci, Suzi were all fantastic servers at Rita's and the poolside service. Rooms were excellent size and the double vanity plus the mini kitchen area was a perk. Free laundry was a nice touch! The main resort fitness center is extremely small and more than 3 people in there makes it crowded. The Spa Fitness Center is amazing, however it would be nice if that opened up earlier than 9am for those who like to get up early and exercise before the day starts. The pool was fantastic but during a busy season it will seem very crowded, so it would be nice if there were additional pools throughout the property to choose from. The elite member breakfast was a continental buffet breakfast with the option of upgrading to a hot buffet for a very reasonable and nominal charge. It was spectacular and we left full every morning! Overall an excellent resort and glad we tried this as a new place instead of our regular Hyatt or Hilton resorts.
