Contrary to some of the other reviews here, we found the service to be excellent and the personnel to be extremely customer-focused. Special shout-out to Rosie who helped us with a room problem and who could not have been nicer or more accomodating. The casita we had on the rooftop with a lovely private terrace ensured that we didn't have any noise from anywhere at all, and the grounds are truly lovely. We especially enjoyed spending time in the secret gardens and watching the wildlife. Of course if you come to a resort like this, there is every reason to take advantage of the facilities as well. We thoroughly enjoyed the adult pool - including the lane swimming area which was much appreciated - and the whirlpool. Service was good and the property was very clean. We took part in sound bathing therapy at the spa, and we were very impressed indeed by the quality of the service and the friendliness of the therapist.

I would wait till personnel shortage fixed if that was the cause. Told hour wait for breakfast one day, hostess super rude another. Made reservations at spa for whole family. Waited for ever to be told mine not for 1.5 hours so left super mad not relaxed. Could not get into main restaurant despite tryin to make reservations. First world problems I’m sure. Otherwise ground and rooms nice

Check in: easy and thorough details provided by the front desk agent. Very pleasant welcome from the bell staff Ambassador benefits: small upgrade to a bigger casita, no welcome amenity (the Phoenician provided a very nice one) continental breakfast buffet and $5 discount off the resort fee. Room: rustic rather than upscale. I liked that it had a microwave and little patio area. Sound proofing was terrible with significant noise coming in from rooms on either side for duration of stay. I arrived after having a blissful massage at the Phoenician spa only to have to listen to the couple in the next room having a screaming argument. Not at all peaceful. I manage a team of staff based in Europe and unfortunately have to get up earlier than I would like to on most work days for meetings with Europe. I was REALLY looking forward to a Christmas morning sleep in. The alarm in the room went off at 6am on Christmas morning - perhaps set by the previous guest - I couldn’t get back to sleep after that. No bitters of water in room. It was pouring with rain and I asked if some couple be brought to my room. Couple of hours passed, headache set in and still no water. Got them after following up and I felt so terrible for the staff member who brought them to me Breakfast: an unfriendly host greeted me Christmas morning - I guess she didn’t get as much sleep as she would have liked either. Darcy was my server and pleasantly attentive. I called out good morning to the chef - no one else was around at 6:30am opening time and he ignored me. Second morning the server was not as customer-centric as Darcy but it was fine. Breakfast here is astonishingly poor overall compared with the Phoenician in terms of service. Didn’t see a hot drink stand for self serve drinks to go. Spa: I booked in for two visits. It was hard to get through to make a booking but got through eventually and the manager helped me out and I have to compliment her on being very accommodating and customer focused. Had a great massage with Diana on my first visit and asked for her again for the next visit which was granted. Aesthetician who did my facial was also fantastic! Facilities all open and mostly fine but had a cold shower the second visit which was largely unpleasant and my only chance of a shower before my long flight home - left not feeling very clean. All went downhill at the hair salon. I was told on arrival there would be an upcharge for my blow dry due to my hair being long. It was already highly priced at $60 and I am accustomed to paying $50 (including at the Phoenician with no upcharge). This wasn’t disclosed to me upon booking which would have been best practice but I said fine and assumed it would be around $10. The kicker was that the salon had cold water too because the boiler had fritzed out so my head was washed with cold water - not pleasant. The hairdresser tried to find some warm water and poured that but it slowed us down and I was in a hurry because I needed to check out of my room. Additionally I knew pouring water on top of my head was not going to wash out the suds properly so I said to just use the cold. She asked me if we could just do one hair wash which I knew I had to agree to but I was really wanting the usual two because there was oil and other product in my hair from my earlier treatments. Was shocked upon check out to find the upcharge was $18 for a substandard experience. Honestly I think the upcharge should have been waived as service recovery for the uncomfortable and abbreviated experience but I think it was unwarranted as is and not competitive pricing. There was no massage or upscale surrounds/technology to warrant a standard blow dry being $60, let alone $78 plus service. So that’s how the salon changed what had previously been a flawless spa experience. WiFi dropped every few minutes and had to be manually triggered even during browsing. So annoying - and I had the better quality WiFi option selected. I hate resort fees and could not make any use of any of the offerings due to no interest in them. I hope that a hotel significantly more wealthy than I am enjoyed my mandated donation to them. Requested 2:30pm late check out could not be accommodated and 1pm was provided due to high number of departing guests - Phoenician much more customer-centric in this respect. This property can in no way compete with the Phoenician for service and was more expensive at the cash rate when I booked. There are pockets of pleasant staff but it’s not consistent. I will neither return nor recommend this property as a Scottsdale option.

We are here now and the property doesn't begin to measure up to other Scottsdale resorts. First the good - the staff at the Spa and Front desk are awesome. But the dining experience, from a service perspective, has been terrible and rude, especially the hostess. Why would they chooses to put someone that is so unfriendly greeting their guests? You can get better at a Denny's. They have all been rather hateful and all wearing masks as chin straps. Just take it off for crying out loud. I was craning my neck at breakfast for ten minutes trying to find my server and no one bothered to ask if I needed something, although it was obvious that I did. Also, I have also never been at a resort of this caliber that doesn't clean the rooms At 3:00 p.m. I went in search of anyone who might be able to give me a coffee pod.mI couldn't call the front desk as the phone in the room doesn't work. If you haven't arrived yet, I'd cancel and rebook somewhere else. There are some amazing, service-oriented resorts here in Scottsdale. This just isn't one of them.
