I understand that some people are turned off by a scratch on an authentic carved solid wood door, or having to ask for bottled water in the 100 degree desert heat. I will take those minor issues in a heartbeat to enjoy the peace, quiet and service of this beautiful place. I love the low buildings, large balconies with wrought iron and freshly reupholstered furniture, pathways, plantings and wildlife around every turn. Friendly, non-intrusive service to a person. We stayed Sun-Weds and got a great discount. The dining venues are not all open every night, but I think that will change soon. We had nice meals and drinks at the M Bar, the spa pool and Centro. Spa is beautiful and we met a few spa-savvy local women who said it’s the best in the area by far. Free Wifi not very strong, maybe the paid connection is better. Our large double Q room in Bldg 10 had gorgeous views of Camelback Mtn and was a short walk to the restos and spa. I will def come back with husband and get a K in Bldg 5 that is opposite the adults only Oasis Pool and has Camelback views. Kasbah Pool had loud music that was not for me, Oasis Pool quiet and relaxing. I don’t think the cabanas are worth the money and I didn’t see anybody in them. If you want a fridge and micro, ask in advance and they’ll put it in your room. This property reminds me of an older style resort (which it is) that offers privacy and space in a friendly yet elegant atmosphere. If high-rise, anonymous Westins are your thing, you probably shouldn’t choose this Omni. It’s not like that.

Dear UpgradeQueen, Thank you for the great review!! I am so happy to see you were able to enjoy one of our Camelback Double Queen rooms with the private balcony (those are some of my favorites too). We certainly are moving in the right direction to have all our restaurants fully open, but I am glad to see you were able to still experience so many of them! Thank you again for joining us and we would welcome you back with open arms whenever you are able to visit!! Sincerely, Rachael Ortuno Front Office Manager

The Montelucia Omni is a dump. The "Moroccan theme" is short hand for banged up and stained furniture. Then there are their "rules". No water bottle in the room, mini fridge empty, not even a paper cup- that is unless you rummage through all the drawers to find the elusive coffee machine which we never could and they brought one later on. The room was very dusty, had obviously not been used or cleaned in a long time, inadequate towels, an A/C that sounded like a motor boat all night. When complaining to the front desk they informed us we had to ASK for water there. This is Scottsdale- in the desert, 100 degrees, dry, arid, always at risk of dehydration! Bad surprise to wake up in the middle of the night and not be able to even get a drink of water. No one offered us this information, not the front desk, bellman, valet etc. Yet when I launched a complaint with management, he returned replies indicating it was our fault to not have asked for water, the decor was not our taste, etc. He even said we did not let housekeeping into our room when their front desk called us and we specifically granted access. What a mess. I NEVER write bad reviews or send letters to management, but the excessive charges, the unresponsive staff, the deplorable conditions cause me to warn others to be wary of staying in the "luxury resort spa" that was a over rated, badly run hotel with a pool. We were in a group to attend a wedding and others in our party also had significant issues including a child injured by spring in the the bed sticking up- another Moroccan theme feature?

I don’t like to give negative reviews but I have to draw the line when there is a lack of pest control and the result is a Bark scorpion hiding under your shirt in a hotel room. I recently stayed at the Omni and while it is a nice resort and has good service, the fact that a bark scorpion was able to get into a second floor hotel room is way to freaky for me to ever return. In addition, when I mentioned this to the front desk the gentleman replied with ‘oh I’m sorry to hear that’ and that was it. Is it a daily occurrence? The bark scorpion is the most venomous in Arizona and that reply and lack of anything by management sealed the deal. I will not be returning to that resort.

Dear Windsorflash, Thank you for joining us at the Omni Montelucia. I am very sorry to see there was a desert pest that got into your room. This, of course, is not something that we want as part of your experience. Please know we do have a pest control company that comes each month to help protect our property and guest rooms. We also do full inspections of each guest room prior to checking a guest in. I hope you were able to enjoy the beautiful setting and scenery your desert vacation was able to offer, am I am sorry about the negative impact of this rare occurrence. Please reach out to me should you ever want to return as I would like to offer my personal reservation assistance. I hope you got home safely and visit again soon. Sincerely, Rachael Ortuno Front Office Manager
