What a wonderful way to reset your body in mind, than a spontaneous holiday with my girls to Savaii. Both Vaimoana Seaside Lodge and Amoa Hotel captured the true essence of the raw beauty of Samoa. Savaii has so much history, with plenty of captivating sites – My favorite, has to be the Blow Holes, a definite MUST if you visit From the beaches to the garden view villas, and the friendly hospitality, who made us feel like VIP’s. Both accommodation provided unbeatable value for money, and would strongly recommend taking advantage of their rates during Covid 19 lockdown.
Have visited Amoa several times now and its always a great time. The staff are very helpful and always welcoming and the food is amazing and very reasonably priced. A perfect place for a local getaway. Would 100% visit again

We stayed just one night at Amoa after arriving in Savai’i from Upolu in the late afternoon. The reception staff were extremely welcoming and brought us fresh homemade lemonade on arrival. The resort was nicely designed - we were in Falé #10 - the furnishings need an update but were fine. Window coverings were very rustic but did the job. Our outdoor shower was a lovely novelty. My husband showered outside in the warm heavy rain! We had dinner at the resort restaurant which was a Mongolian-themed buffet that night. Unsure as to what the deal was, it was explained to us that you choose your meat (raw) from lamb, beef, chicken, pork or seafood mix - and the chef mixed this with chilli, ginger, veggies & a choice of sauce, then cooked it over a huge (quite dangerous) open gas flame! The food was delicious however and my husband had seconds he enjoyed it so much. Dessert was local fruit and bread & butter pudding with caramel sauce - soooo good! There was a local acoustic band playing guitars and bass/spoons - these guys were very talented and were obviously enjoying themselves! Their music and singing was quiet enough so you could talk over it so perfect for me. The service again was really attentive and friendly in the restaurant. We left with full bellies and took the short walk across the road to the beach afterwards. We spotted lots of fish in the shallows. The staff came to our rescue at midnight after we unintentionally locked ourselves out of our bathroom (d’oh!). Everyone had a chuckle once the young staff member climbed a ladder and jumped over the wall and hopped down into our outdoor shower opening the door. Impressive! The pool area looked nice with comfy sunloungers but we didn’t use it during our very short stay. Something to note - this resort is not actually ON the beach - it is next to the road which you need to cross to get to the ocean “beach”. There is very little sand on the beach however and no real way of getting into the ocean. So, if you’re after a beachfront resort head further north to one of the resorts about a 50 min drive away (we stayed at Stevenson’s). Breakfast at Amoa was part of our tariff and was basic toast and local fruit but you do have the option to order bacon and eggs etc from the menu if you wish for an extra charge. Checkout was stress-free and everyone is so relaxed here that it’s a great place to kickstart your Savai’i adventure. …
