I spent 5 nights in the remote lodge. The staff were fantastic and the meals fresh and adjusted for my likes. I had hoped to do some birding and was not disapointed.Tanagers, toucanets, Saltators all came to eat the fruits off the trees on the property. And the property is very close to The Dracula Reserve that hosts many other flycatcher, tanagers, flower pierces and the rare white-faced nunbird!Alex was friendly, helpful and spoke great English! He made this place even more enjoyable! Wonderful place!
This Hacienda located high in the Andes Mountains makes you feel as if you are experiencing a wonderful dream. As if the dense variety of flora and fauna are not enough, the Hacienda is staffed by a small group of the most attentive, warm, hard working people on earth. You can spend your days hiking to nearby waterfalls, riding horses, or just swimming in the idyllic pool listening to the birds. The food is excellent and thoughtfully prepared. Our 17 year old Vegan received delicious specially prepared meals as did the rest of us non Vegan meat eaters. A simply wonderful place, not to be missed, and appropriate for all ages. We are determined to return.
This wonderful hacienda is about 3 hours north of quito in the beautiful cloud forest. The scenery is spectacular. The staff at the hacienda are warm welcoming and professional. Our host, Alex, couldnt do enough to make our 6 day stay amazing. We rode horses, white water rafting and hiking. The food was wonderful. This is deffinately a must do for anyone in Ecuador. Dont miss this beautiful Hacienda in a breathtaking part of Ecuador
I still feel this is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. I just spent seven glorious days there in mid-February. Once again, the service goes beyond amazing - on all levels. From the wonderful meals, to the beautiful room, to the horseback riding, hiking, bird watching, the list goes on and on. The staff at the Hacienda (Alex, José and Pati) make you feel so incredibly special in all that they do for you. I will be back!
This is such a beautiful spot, with mostly unsculpted gardens around the main house. Butterflies, brightly coloured birds, hummingbirds, flowers and fruit trees are all fun to see yet calming and peaceful. In our two full days/3 nights, we ate delicious and perfectly seasoned meals, hiked to 2 different waterfalls, walked along the banks of lovely rivers/rapids, visited an orchid farm, had an Ecuadorian cooking class with the chef and relaxed in the hammock or on the porch of this lovely place. We saw the horses and the bulls as they moved through the pastures. We also got to see much of the nearby villages. There is also lots of relaxing down time when not exploring. Great wifi, and comfortable, clean rooms, All the staff were amazing, and many thanks to Alex the hotel manager, who was our tour guide and driver, and to Patti and Jose who provided great food and service and the other staff who were friendly and very helpful. We were very happy to be there, what a special and tranquil place!…
