This was my first visit in Ushuaia, which is where I embarked for my Antarctic expedition. Sebastien was amazing as he was so helpful in assisting me with hiking excursions with top guides and top restaurants in Ushaia. I was so impressed that I decided to stay at Tierra de Leyendas for an additional 4 nights after I returned from Antarctica . Important note: Sebastien is an accomplished chef as I dined at Leyendas for 2 nights for excellent fine dining. Best of all, I had left my Kindle reader in my room and Sebastien brought it to me at the airport as I was waiting for my flight! Tierra de Leyendas is the place to stay when Ushuaia!
Wonderful boutique hotel! Managed by the owners not only with impeccable attention to detail, but also with love and warmth! We extended our stay for it was such a wonderful experience. Spacious and nice rooms warmly decorated, excellent food made by the owner himself, care and mindfulness in every detail. We are coming back soon!
Room was large and had a beautiful view over the Beagle Sound. Breakfast was great with homemade breads and pastries, and delicious scrambled eggs. The few dinners we had there were wonderful also. My husband had a medical emergency while we were staying there and Sebastian, our host, was wonderful, helpful and sympathetic. He offered to take me to the hospital and suggested his wife could help translate for us. I ended up staying there while my husband was hospitalized for a few days and it was comforting to come home to Tierra de Leyendas after spending the day at the hospital. I would definitely recommend. A short $4 taxi ride to town and Sebastian was helpful about planning activities. Anyway, 5 star rating.
Our stay was only a few short days before our cruise. The hotel had a very home-like feel with a beautiful view of Ushuaia. We rented a car during our stay we’re able to park right out front and Sebastian advised on restaurants and hikes. Breakfast was good and dinner was offered on weekdays as well
Family run small hotel. Very friendly and helpful. Excellent food prepared by Sebastian, the owner. Wonderful position with some rooms overlooking Beagle Channel. Can also see the airport runway from this side of the hotel, which may interest some. Noise is not an issue. Position is on the outskirts of town but taxis are cheap and plentiful.
I give this hotel a 10/10! Family owned business and it shows in all the details that made our experience so rewarding. Personalised treatment starts when contacting Maia for reservations.Booking went smoothly and she solved all my questions regarding excursions and the best way to get the most out of our 4 days stay in Ushuaia. She even recommended an excursion managed by Patagonia Adventure Explorer which was great.Upon arriving to the hotel we were greeted by Seba, her husband, the most friendly host. With a map in hand and a welcoming coffee he showed us all the highlights of the city. Our room was the suite with a jacuzzi and stunning views of the bay. My daughters and son had the triple room..Both rooms were impeccable. The overall style of the hotel is very cozy ,with only a few rooms and there is a living room with books, board games and movies to borrow.A neat garden with a fire pit completes this paradise. Ushuaia is renowed for its food and we had the best experience when Seba, who is a chef, prepared us a superb dinner.Seriously we should have dined at the hotel every night.Seafood and patagonian lamb at their best! All served and explained in detail by their smiling daughter. Breakfast is homemade as well.Seba prepares artisanal jams, bakes the bread and pastries( yummy croissants!). Every morning we had our table for 5 already set and some cards on the table with facts about Ushuaia that broadened our knowledge.Detais, details and more details that show a love for their land in the end of the world. I cannot praise this place enough.Maia and Seba surely go the extra mile and I am so glad I chose them to introduce us to one magnificent place in my country Argentina.…
The owner sebastian was very nice during our entire stay, from tips to making reservations, preparing us a lunch late ate night when we arrived from the airport. He is also an amazing cook, we had a terrific dinner! It was a perfect warming experience! We will come back for sure,
Excellent place to stay. Quite a unique hotel which is lovingly looked after by the owner Sebastian. He makes you feel special, which is very rare in a hotel, this starts when you first walk through the door. A small hotel with only seven rooms but this makes it quite cosy. The room had great views across the Beagle Channel. Nice room and bathroom. Breakfast was good, exactly what I wanted, a continental breakfast with scrambled eggs, if requested. Sebastian is also the cook, an excellent cook, and the evening meals are quite special with a great choice of wine. Try the sea bass, wonderful. I won’t be back, as this is a one off trip for me to Antartica, but if you are passing this way I highly recommend.
Always a sucker for family-owned, boutique hotel and this time it paid off handsomely. Hotel is small and feels very private, it has it's own small garden and green house for fresh salad! Place is well decorated with family's travel around the world, which added to it's uniqueness. It's away from the city, but Sebastian is a great chef, we ate in for 2 of 5 nights here. As we don't speak Spanish, Sebastian helped us called for taxi, restaurants and provide useful recommendations. It's also very near to the Channel, but the roads there are mostly unpaved and dusty. Great view though. Would be nice to have fully blacked-out curtain as sun sets at 10ish pm in summer
Completely thrusting the recommendation of Tripadvisor as the best hotel in Ushuaia, we decided to stay some days in this hotel, but unfortunately this hotel does not belong in the top 10 anymore. The hotel is too far away from the center and the good restaurants (10 mins taxi drive) and no interesting places are at walking distance. The pillows are very uncomfortable, antique bed linen, heating is unstable, some doors didn’t close properly, the floor with offered 2nd hand hotel slippers is dangerously slippery and breakfast is the same every day. A hotel nowadays must offer decent WIFI (did not work in the rooms) and cable television (old TV with DVD movies is too old school for a number 1 hotel these days) in order to relax during the cold and / or rainy days.
