This hotel is operated by the same people that operate Albatros the hotel included with Antarctic Cruise.I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in between Antarctic Cruise and boarding Stella Australis cruise. The hotel is very centrally located right on the main drag and amongst the shops and eateries BUT overpriced for what you get and breakfast is not included .So obviously paying for location. The room was small with very little space for a suitcase except open on the floor. Having disembarked from an Antarctic Cruise and continuing on another cruise before exploring SA for another 1.5 months I had quite a change of clothing and bulk being the issue.Anyway the bed was comfortable, the bathroom had hot water and yes the room was very hot even with the column heater turned off When I asked that the heat be turned off I was told that underfloor heating was turned off as well as the column heater in the room .
Breakfast is not included in tariff but do not pay for it it is overpriced for tea and toast when over the road there is a cafe I did not use it but had lunch there a few times so would think breakfast good also
The hotel does offer dinner but again I never ate dinner there
The desk staff speak very little English if at all.I dont know if this is because they choose not to or they dont want us there!!!!! but want the dollar (this I found throughout my travels in SA) which I think is very wrong considering the international people that arrive in Ushuaia I would have thought that staff would speak English or at the very least have a small vocabulary of it.Having said that the desk clerk that I encountered did speak English and was very helpful in aiding me with phone calls to Airport to locate lost luggage
HINT:I found this out to late to take advantage of but if you need a room inbetween tours so to speak (I had a day to kill between booking out of hotel and boarding Stella Australis Cruise)I left my luggage at hotel and in the am did the Martial Glacier walk but still had 6 hours to kill so just sat in the foyer of the hotel That was when the clerk informed me I could have rented a room for half price a bit late now!!! would have been good to know earlier
I never had any trouble with WiFi
With all the pitfalls of this hotel I would stay here again

This hotel offered everything I needed: good and varied breakfast, comfortable accommodation and great heating. It's located in the main street of the city, which allows you to go everywhere on foot. There are plenty of restaurants around and other facilities. It's a no-frills hotel and I'd definitely stay there again.

We had a very nice stay at Hotel De Los Andes. It is a sister hotel to the Albatros. They have excellent internet, clean rooms and the staff at the front desk spoke great English. Also- they are connected to the pizza joint. :) This hotel is located on the main drag in town and you are close to everything. We even hiked to the Glacier from there with no problems.

The hotel provided me and my partner with outstanding advice regarding the local trekking and best options to get there. Provided us with the best option for martial glacier and also lagoona Esmeralda.

The rooms were nice and breakfast was good.

So happy I found this hotel! perfect location if you are planning a cruise, as it is a few blocks from the pier. Desk staff was very helpful. room was comfortable, clean and quiet. Shopping is just outside the door of this centrally located hotel. Walking distance to 2 grocery stores.
Thank Carol M
