Pueblo Viejo was clean, comfortable and quiet. The large bathrooms were sparkling and had plenty of hot water. The beds were comfy and the rooms cozy. The kitchen was adequate for cooking meals and the included breakfast of coffee and buttery medialunas was great. The owner and the desk help were extremely helpful and accomodating. I travelled to Antarctica with my brother and almost 13 year old son in January 2009 and needed somewhere to stay the night before we left, several of my initial choices were already booked out. We arrived late Tuesday evening and were pleased our booking (via Hostelbookers - more reviews there) was in order and our triple room was ready....

We booked with Pueblo Viejo based on the Lonely Planet Guide. Most of the hotels are priced at over $100 and we wanted to keep our trip on a budget level that Argentina is known for (although the bargains are fast disappearing). The hostel is located in the downtown core so restaurants/groceries/pier are all within a short walking distance. The...
