We stayed for one night. Nice location one block from bus station and next door to a bakery. we stayed in a private room across the road. The room barely had room for the bed and that was it and our room was a bit run down. I think next time we would try to stay somewhere else just to... More

Nice and quiet private rooms with decent very basic breakfast. Recommended only if you take a private room, as the dorm area looked rough. Note that the social factor is very low for the private rooms, however, because they're across the street from the dorm rooms. If you want to meet people, which I missed being able to do, better... We stayed in the apartment which sleeps 4 people for 3 days over the period. We had a fantastic stay, our rooms with private bathroom were spotless and cleaned every day and the gardens at the hostel are beautifully kept, heaps of flowers in blooms and you can sit and relax and enjoy whilst drinking malbec wine - feels like... cosy, well-located little hostel, nice communal area, good kitchen, decent basic breakfast. Dorm rooms are very small but there is separate storage space, and the big atmosphere makes up for the small space. Mariano is super sympatico and incredibly helpful, and will go out of his way to help you make the most of your stay.

We spent 2 nights in the Lago Argentino Hostel. The place feels more like a little posada. The common areas and the rooms are very well decorated and cleaned. They have a backyard with grass and flowers. Rooms have many blanquet, several shelves to stores and central heating. When I take a shower, I had troubles with the temperature of... More

I stayed here 2 nights while travelling north from Ushuaia to Santiago. I picked it by chance from a list given to me at the bus station. It's close to the bus station and town centre. Friendly, English speaking staff, reasonable rates, clean rooms....highly recommended. Peter Schindler UK

We were in a hurry when we arrived at El Calafate, because we wanted to book some activities for the following days. Hopefully Javier the owner of the hostel and his wife helped us to book everything and gave us good advices about El Calafate. They are very kind and available and consider you as if you are a member... More
