The Cauquenes de Nimez is ideally situated 1/2 mile walk from the bustle of downtown and all of it's tourist attractions. Located a few blocks also from a bird sanctuary we enjoyed our morning walks or afternoon bicycle rides (the hotel provides for free bicycles). The rooms were very comfortable and large and the beds were comfortable. Unfortunately the breakfast... More

I stayed here for 2 nights while (of course) visiting the Glacier. The whole hotel smells like lavender and they play relaxing spa music in the lobby so you feel relaxed as soon as you arrive. The breakfast is all homemade breads, cakes, and jams. Although it´s a bit of a hike to town it´s about a 2 minute walk... More

We stayed for two nights. The staff were very helpful and organised airport transfers, taxis, packed lunch, trip to glacier and laundry. The rooms were small but nice. Breakfast was simple with bread and jam mainly. My kids were disappointed but what there was, was homemade and very nice. Had afternoon tea overlooking the lake which was lovely. (No charge).... We spent a few nights there between various excursions. I just highly recommand this place. First, all the staff is super nice and very helpful. They take the time for each customer and I really value that, especially when travelling abroad. They all try to make our stay as convenient as possible. Then, the hotel by itself is super nice... Although a bit outside of town (you can reach the main street, Ave del Liberador, with 15 min of walking), it was a great place on the shores of Lago Argentino. The room was clean and the staff was extremely helpful. When we had trouble booking excursions, one of the ladies continued to call and offered other options of things... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cauquenes de Nimez. Our room was comfortable and quiet (upstairs, all the way at the end), and we enjoyed the complimentary tea and the buffet breakfasts - didn't have the opportunity to have dinner there, unfortunately. The breakfasts were standard for Argentina but enhanced by all of the homemade baked goods and jams. The... More

We stayed here several nights and enjoyed the free wifi and a wonderful dinner. Breakfasts were mostly bread and cake, with the usual ham and cheese. The rooms are very small and the bathrooms are tiny. The dining room and lobby are very comfortable and have great views of the lake. The staff are excellent, we got a late checkout... More

Very nice, quiet, and peaceful place to stay in El Calafate. It's very close to Laguna Nimez, hence the name of the place, and it only a 10 minute walk to the center of town. Our room was very nice, clean and comfortable. The service here is wonderful, and the people that work there are extremely friendly and go out... More

The hotel is at the quiet periphery of El Calafate, close to the lake. It is a beautiful house, furnished with much love and attention to detail, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We highly recommend it.

Nice hotel, big room but we could hear every step from the neighbors in the room above. Breakfast was average. The hotel does have a small fenced yard to play in for the kids. Good wifi. Friendly staff. There is a small park just outside to take a walk but it requires an entrance fee.
