Hotel is tired and rooms and small and outdated for the price hotel staff has very limited English Breakfast buffet is lacking and food is missing with no replenishment. No fresh fruit available. Eggs are not cooked and we were unable to get them cooked more My suggestion is to skip this hotel and book elsewhere
A very comfortable modern hotel with spacious room and views over the lake towards the mountains. Staff friendly & helpful. Breakfast good choices and menu choices good but portions large! Hotel on edge of small town. Easy walking distance to Main Street with cafes , ATM . Convenient for travel to the Perito Moreno Glacier.
Extremely comfortable and stylish hotel with extraordinary views. Our room had a 180 degrees view on the lake and it was wonderful to wake up to that much beauty. The breakfast could definitely be better, but overall it is a really nice place to stay while in El Calafate.
Enjoyed my stay, beautiful lodge feeling hotel, lobby &rooms. Friendly and helpful staff (Manuel), great pool, great location, only 8 mn walk to downtown El calafate, quiet beautiful views. Only downside is poor wifi in the rooms, had to go to lobby for a better connection and sauna that you have to schedule 1 hour before going there to warm it up, but understand the economical reason, just not practical.
Overall the hotel (intended as the structure and rooms) are ok. Nothing particularly good or bad, just ok. However, service was very poor. Particularly the restaurant. Awful food – the side bread they brought us for lunch was clearly not fresh. The pizza they served was the quality of cheap supermarket frozen pizza. The pumpkin soup heavy and tasteless. When sat there for lunch there were only 2 other tables besides us and yet it took them about 15 minutes to just bring the menus, and another half an hour to get the food. Also breakfast was disorganized and you had to ask for basic items like bowls or spoons as apparently there weren’t enough. Also, in our room the safe was not working. We called twice to have someone fix it. Both time they replied they would send someone within 10 minutes but nobody ever arrived. We’ve been to other 4-star hotels in Argentina, and they definitely offered much better service for a similar price.…
Very nice hotel. The room was a nice size, the staff was very courteous. The rooms were clean. We had a beautiful view of the city and lake from the 3rd floor. The breakfast was continental and only OK. There is a lounge and bar but we never visited it. There is an indoor heated pool, a little thin but long. Only 10 people were allowed in the pool at once. Had to make an appointment with front desk. The hotel was about 10 minutes from city center. You are about an hour and a half from Perito Moreno Glacier.
Great hotel, staff were friendly from check in and while our room wasn’t ready yet we were able to relax in the reception area. The place is so lovely, modern and well decorated but still manages to make you feel like you can relax and enjoy the common areas. The pool area is great, large heated pool with a waterfall. Nice beds to relax on and a water station. Room was spacious, big comfy bed and powerful hot shower. Lunch boxes available to order the night before a day out. We felt they were good value including sandwich, bar, fruit, cake and water for around £4/5 but only downside was sandwich was quite dry (they don’t use butter). Food in their restaurant was well priced and tasty. Plenty of good restaurants in the town but we were quite tired one night so stayed in. The hotel is on a bank, which we liked for good views and it’s still only 5-10 mins tops to the Main Street. Couple downsides, breakfast each day was the same and quite basic. All self serve so some things may be left out a while. Corridors are a little echoey so take earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Just a minor but hooks by the sink would be useful to hang hand towels. Safe didn’t work in the room the whole mechanism wasn’t there. Overall really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others. Just those few improvements would make it perfect.…
The facilities were beautiful and I loved the decor. The staff were very helpful and even made sure that the restaurant would stay open late to accommodate me when my flight from Buenos Aires arrived late to ensure I could eat dinner. They also made arrangements to make sure I could get to the bus station with a taxi as it is located in a strange part of town that is not walking distance from pretty much anywhere. I was extremely pleased with the room, very large and comfortable. It is true that you can hear dogs barking but they are located all through the town and that’s something true for El Calafate and not unique to the hotel. I did not care for the location as the walk to town was not very nice but if you had a car it would be perfect because the hotel itself is great.
THIEVES - TO AVOID Sauna broken down - no towels or cups available at the pool The hotel made us pay VAT in addition to the amount of our reservation on booking which was absolutely not expected! Far away from the city VOLEURS - A EVITER Sauna en panne - pas de serviettes ou de gobelets disponibles à la piscine L'hôtel nous a fait payer la TVA en plus du montant de notre réservation sur booking ce qui n'était absolument pas prévu !
While there is nothing really wrong with this hotel, somehow it misses the mark. To start with it is hard to find your way into it because it just has a walk way off a side road and you cannot pull up to the entrance with your car. The second thing is the restaurant – it is just dull! Having said that, we had a suite and it was fine, clean and adequate – it just all felt like it could have been better.
