Located halfway in between El Chalten and El Calafate, this private ranch hosts only a max of 12 guests. It is on the shore of Lake Viedma, and boasts a beautiful view of both sunrises and sunsets. The ranch is full of nostalgic antiques. Our dinner was cooked in a large fireplace. You can also see Fitz Roy in the...

We stayed at Estancia La Estela for three nights and as others have noted, the setting for Estancia La Estela is breathtaking. You're on the shores of Lago Viedma and across the lake stands Cerro Fitz Roy and the other Andes peaks near El Chalten. While we were there, the wind was unforgiving and it wasn't terribly pleasant to be...

We arrived after a very long drive from the other side of Argentina on New Year's Eve, to be welcomed by the most incredible view. The drive to the Estancia is 3kms off the main road, and as we crested a hill, we were stunned to a standstill! Mount Fitz Roy and its surrounding mountains were in full evening glory...

We stayed here in February 2015, and I had one of the best travel days I have ever had. My wife often retells the story of me coming back to the room after a day exploring and saying I had a 10/10 day! The view from the rooms is like something you see in a National Geographic Documentary. You can...

We had lunch here driving from Torres del Paine to El Chalten. The property was stunning, the facilities beautiful and the food very good. I had time for only a short walk, but I can imagine spending hours exploring the surroundings. And such nice people. Its a real winner.

Our 12 day Bio Bio Patagonia trip included a stop here for lunch on the day we traveled from Torres del Paine to El Chalten. The consensus of the entire group was that we wished we had stayed there overnight. The hosts were charming; the location is breathtaking. It seems as though it would be a delightful break between hiking...

We stayed for two nights at La Estela during our two-week road trip through Southern Patagonia, and were very glad that we found this place. Although the weather during those two days was the worst that it was at any point during the trip, we really enjoyed the property, which is quite accessible but still feels delightfully isolated. The pros:...

My wife and I have stayed at Estancia La Estela in 2011 as part of our Patagonia trip. Firstly, the estancia is easy to reach but out of any guide's list and off the beaten track so it was an undiscovered gem. The place is charming, and the two owners very friendly, the landscape amazing and the price reasonable compared...

We stayed in La Leona one night in February -13 and were so pleased with welcoming service and excelent food. But after all, the most special thing with La Leona is the location in the middle of a desert valley, on the riverbank, and with those breathtaking surroundings. I really recommend a visit, a nice room and a beer in...
