Stayed here as part of a 14-day tour. We arrived 2 days early so we were here for 4 nights. The bathrooms were very small but the breakfasts were plentiful. They served fresh jams and compotes made from plums from their back yard that were just ripening at the time. Everything was homemade and delicious. The staff were helpful and gave us good suggestions for activities during our 2 days on our own.
Had a great 3 night stay in Las Marianas run by the talented and creative mother and daughter, Mariana and Mariana. The location was great - away from the hustle and bustle of the centre but just a couple of blocks uphill. Rooms were comfortable although the bathroom was very compact. Loved the breakfasts with everything freshly prepared. Mariana, the daughter speaks excellent English and every morning checked that we and our friends had plans for the day. Really would recommend this charming family hotel.
Very friendly. English spoken helpful staff. Good clean rooms. Breakfast from 8.00 am but obligingly flexible for earlier breakfast without cooked option. Highly recommended. A short 5 minute walk downhill to centre of town and restaurants.
Las Marianas offers tariffs with or without breakfast. When we booked our last night at the reception we explicitly asked if breakfast will be possible before 7:00 am, because we had to leave very early the next day. The Lady at the reception registered our preferences (coffee, tee or cacao) and charged the tariff including breakfast. The next morning no breakfast was prepared, just the night clerk was available telling us, that he's not in the position to serve us anything. So we had to leave with empty stomachs. Assuming, that this was a mere case of misunderstanding or bad management, I contacted Las Marianas afterwards by E-Mail asking for a refund of the breakfast not delivered. Now the real annoyance began: There was no cooperation or comprehension, not even an apology. Their only counter-argument, they repeatedly stressed was, that breakfast is given from 8:00 to 9:30 and if we don't use that time frame, then it's just our own fault. Our agreement from the day before was completely ignored and negated although it was unmistakably clear to the receptionist that we are going to leave before 8:00 (because at the same moment she also reserved our taxi for 7:15 am). Even so she sold us a service of which she already new, that we will not be able to use it. Conclusion: Instead of a refund for the breakfast not delivered we had an unpleasant communication with Las Marianas afterwards. Our experience rather resembles the one described in an earlier review by JoDoShep (https://www.tripadvisor.de/ShowUserReviews-g312848-d648974-r453445831-Las_Marianas_Hotel-San_Carlos_de_Bariloche_Province_of_Rio_Negro_Patagonia.html?m=19905) who resumes: "Nobody likes the feeling of being ripped off, even if it isn't a large amount".…
A beautiful hotel with personal service given by staff who really care. A comfortable room, there's also a nice seating area. A delicious breakfast full of home made items. The hotel is a short walk from the town, down quite a steep hill, but the benefit of this is that it's in a safe, quiet residential area.
