Overall a very beautiful and nice hotel. Not sure I would rate it as 5 star but 4 star for sure. I would recommend more road signs to find the hotel, it is very difficult to navigate if you do not have Google maps/ GPS. The views are STUNNING and it is tucked away from the hustle and bustle. Sadly they were out of some of the menu items but the ones they did have were incredible. Breakfast we perfect, just make sure you book your time in advance. If you don’t want to wait just order room service once you wake up. The staff was AMAZING and the best part of our visit besides the view!!
Apart Hotel. Not a hotel. First things first. Marriot as a chain would be more careful in the classification. No doorman. Nor porter. On the other side : polite staff, nice rooms, good breakfast. Inside a golf condo. 25 min far from Bariloche downtown (easy to reach). It is what it is : a 3 star apart hotel
Too many complains for a three days stay. This hotels does not meet Marriott standards. Only one person in front desk, distracted with American Express and making guests wait for 20 minutes before even looking to us. We waited every time to enter Arelauquen complex because of condominium restrictions, but one time after returning from Bariloche tour we were 30 min in line to get attended, not any special attention to hotel guests. Small rooms and very limited breakfast. Not recommended if you are touring Bariloche, if you are staying for golf or leisure just consider it's closer to a Motel 6 than a 5 star hotel.
The hotel is very nice, the setting is beautiful. I had an amazing view of lake Gutierrez and cerro catedral. However the noise in the building is not what I expected from this kind of hotel. I can hear all activity in the room upstairs like dragging furniture; the pipe work makes an incredibly loud noise which woke me up every night; and I could clearly hear the baby next door crying at all times. The noise from the corridor activity is very loud. Not very relaxing which is a shame because I came here looking for a quiet secluded space. Go for the views but don’t expect relaxation
The lodge is beautifully located outside Bariloche within the vast and spectacular area of the Arelauquen Golf and Country club, a gated community. The lodge comes with stunning vistas of lake Gutierrez and a 18-hole golf course. The vibe of the lodge is quiet charming. The area is very beautiful, quiet and safe. Public rooms are nicely appointed and decorated. The restaurant is good with meals nicely presented and tasty but dont expect a star restaurant. There is a great selection of wines of Argentina. Breakfast is good with both buffet and a la carte options. The bar and lobby area is a great place to watch the night fall with a well done drink from the bar. Rooms are big and nicely appointed with large bathrooms. There is a nice and little spa area with both indoor and outdoor pools. The golf course around the corner is top notch as well as the restaurant in the clubhouse. There are a lot of hiking trails starting right at the lodge. I highly recommend this place but you should bear in mind that this is a lodge and not a top 5 star chain hotel.…
This rustic-luxury hotel is in a remote, gated community set in the Andes. After spending time in the other parts of Bariloche- we were so grateful for the tranquility and security. The area and views were wonderful. A little hard to navigate but we managed. The staff was one of the most helpful staff I have ever encountered at a hotel. They truly took care of us. Daniella and Sergio stand out in our minds. We stayed on Marriott points so our rooms were without a view, but that was ok. We could tell it was an older property that had gone thru a recent remodel. The kitchens were great to have in the room. The one downside was we were expecting the washer and dryer. But the dryer was broke and the washer had other challenges. So we had to do a lot of laundry in the bathroom sink. I would definitely recommend bringing a travel clothes line if you plan on doing laundry. The hotel restaurant was good quality food but the options were not our preferreence so we did not eat there a lot. However there is a hidden gem in the golf course next door- the clubhouse restaurant. The pasta was total comfort food, and the salads and sandwiches were beyond wonderful. The reality is that if you are expecting a US style Marriott - this is not it. But when traveling, different areas are just that. It has its own charm, beauty and personality. Be open to new experiences and enjoy.…
We stayed at the Arelauquen Lodge in Bariloche for 3 nights during our honeymoon trip to Argentina. This was by far our favorite part of the trip! The location was beautiful, the stay was beyond amazing and the area was just spectacular! You will want to call the hotel to arrange a pickup from the airport as they check registration at the entrance and if they are not current you won't be allowed through and it is a long way from the entrance to the lodge. When we checked in it was busy and our room wasn't ready so we checked our bags and grabbed some drinks and lunch in the lodge. View was incredible and the food was so fresh and good! Nick was the manager and he was beyond helpful and really made our stay that much better! He lived in the US so English was great. He helped organize drivers, made recommendations for breweries and chocolate shops in the town and dinner reservations for us while we were there. Can not say enough good things about Nick!! Christian was another amazing person we met that worked there, he was usually our waiter and bartender at night but we enjoyed talking to him each nite. Great person and added to our trip. This location is isolated a bit you will have to either rent a car or have a driver take you everywhere but it is worth it. Many walking paths and hikes from the lodge. We would stay here again in heartbeat, looking forward to our return trip. Can't say enough wonderful things about the staff and this location!!!…
We just completed a stay at the Arelauquen Lodge in Bariloche, Argentina and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff is wonderful and helpful, the restaurant is great, and the bar is intimate and warm. We had a large suite with huge picture windows from which to view the amazing scenery outside. The bathroom was super large and the shower had plenty of hot water and water pressure. This small hotel is situated at the foot of the Cathedral Mountain and across from Lake Gutierrez so the setting is magnificent. Arelauquen Lodge is in the Arelauquen Golf and Country Club estate and includes an 18-hole golf course, polo fields, walking and & hiking trails. We golfed there twice ($17/round) and loved it - the course is interesting and challenging and the golf shop personnel couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. Bariloche itself is an outdoor activity paradise with every imaginable activity available and incredibly affordable. We took a 1.5 hr horseback ride up one of the mountains for $16/pp. We visited in mid-February and the weather was warm during the day (72 - 80F), cool in the evening (40F), and very dry. We plan to return to the Arelauquen Lodge - our stay was perfect. A special shout-out to a few of the great staff at the lodge - Nic at the front desk, Sergio in the restaurant, and Christian at the bar. Nic was especially helpful, kind, and generous with his time - his help negotiating the surrounding area was indispensable.…
We had a lovely few days at the Arelauquen Lodge and enjoyed some great hikes during our stay over the New Year period. The staff were all very helpful and friendly: including pointing us towards options for walks. The location of the lodge is superb and there are great views from the bar and restaurant area. The one slight disappointment for us was the room. The room was perfectly functional, but we booked a more expensive room (a grand king, I think) and the picture on Marriott’s website suggested the room would have lots of natural light with great views. We had one window, which from most angles have a view of a stone staircase down from the restaurant area. That said, we had a lovely stay - I would just warn against paying for the more expensive rooms.
We stayed at the hotel as part of honeymoon trip and it was great! Although the hotel is a little far from downtown (about 20-25 minutes), it makes up for this because of its gorgeous and breathtaking views. The staff was welcoming and helpful. They arranged for us to have a private driver take us to “Circuito Chico” which was the best thing to do in Bariloche. The room was cozy, had a mini kitchen and an average size bathroom. Great, relaxing stay with breathtaking views!
