This small, family owned and run hotel in the style of a Tuscan Villa was our base for a 3 night stay. It is quite charming, all suites designed in a way that immediately relax most guests, though from other reviews, not all. The staff could not have been more helpful - even fixed payment of my parking fine (doh) and made excellent recommendations for supper and exercise/outings. We drove the Seven Lake Drive on our first full day and Marcos was helpful in highlighting the must-do-stops. Continental breakfast is served overlooking gorgeous lake and is limited but excellent quality - eggs cooked separately if you wish, at no extra cost. Very comfortable room overlooking the lake.
The room we stayed in offered the best views we've ever had from a hotel: the Nahuel Huapi lake and the Andes mountains behind it, and don't forget that almost every good hotel in the region will have lakefront rooms, but the privileged location of this place in Villa La Angostura beats anyone I can Imagine. Since it was summer, not only the heated pool was inviting, an all-day long program, but the staircase leading to the lake shore means you have, in effect, a private beach, shared only by the guests from the neighbouring hotel. The water is very cold, but bearable, and crystal-clear The owners respected the enviroment so much that the staircase goes around a big fallen tree, instead of removing it, and the property even has some arrayanes that were more colorful than those in the famous grove. Being a small boutique hotel, with only eight rooms and a tuscan inspiration, it's a quiet place, and the silence is only broken by the birds and the small waves breaking in the beach when the wind gets stronger, not by noisy kids, so present elsewhere in the area. We stayed two nights, and the only problem of booking a longer period is that you might not want to leave the hotel at all, perhaps only to have lunch and walk Villa La Angostura's main street. Breakfest had to be simple, because it serves few guests, but was delicious, and all the hotel staff was very friendly and attentive. We would definitely stay there again if we go back to Villa La Angostura…
We had been warned about the steep drive, but having nosed our way down in our hire car, we then had to turn around in a very tight space as the parking was full and climb back up the precipitous drive! The room was very large and airy, with fabulous views of the lake, however, the stairs to the room are not well lit and the storage space was lacking. That said, the bed was wonderfully comfortable and the room spotlessly clean. There was a certain amount of noise from the wildlife (?ducks, ?crows) and early morning boats. Breakfast was simple but delicious. The staff were delightful and very helpful
The property is beautiful, has the best views of the Nahuel Huapi Lake. Rooms are very big and clean. Pool is great and so is the general area (lobby). The staff is amazing and Markus was extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
Stayed here for a total of four nights. The rooms are lovely (aside from a foul sewer smell coming from the shower drains), as is the view of the lake and breakfast. However, the staff are not accommodating and quite rude. I asked if I could do a load of laundry - for the price they charge, asking to do a load of laundry MYSELF isn’t an unreasonable request. I would have even done it later in the day as to not delay their own laundry needs. They refused, so I spent half my afternoon (on vacation) driving into town and finding a laundromat they recommended. The laundromat destroyed all of my clothes, and now I have to purchase a new wardrobe. Is it Luma Casa’s direct fault? No. But could this have been avoided if they would have made a reasonable accommodation and let me do one load of laundry? Yes. Part of being a “luxury” hotel involves doing what you can to make your guests stay pleasant. They even say in their welcome packet to ask them for any requests and they’ll do it. But they didn’t. Now I’m left paying for a new wardrobe. Luma Casa ruined what was supposed to be a good vacation.…
Helpful staff, wonderful view, great breakfast all very enjoyable. Our room was on the lower floor and the only drawback was that the lighting was quite dim going down stairs. The stairs look even but in fact they are a little uneven so just need extra care. We used the pool though not the massage facilities. We had a rented car and had been warned about the steep drive - just take care with that too.
This hotel is a total gem. It only has a limited number of rooms which are in fact all suites with spectacular views over the lake. It’s utterly charming. The suits are huge and incredibly well decorated with plenty of attention to detail. Beds wonderfully comfortable, mattresses clean (I always check) but like so many hotels in Argentina they don’t use mattress protectors. They serve substantial snacks that are all home made but not a full gourmet restaurant- plenty available in town. Breakfast very good. Staff were lovely and helpful. If you have any walking disabilities do be aware there is a steep access- they do have a buggy to assist. Highly recommend this fabulous hotel.
The hotel is right on the lakeside and has the most superb views that you never tire of. Right from our arrival the staff were really good helping us with our bags and giving us tips on where to go and what to do locally. Although there is no restaurant the bar snacks and wine menu is ample and we enjoyed a late super on the balcony enjoying the sunset. The buffet breakfast with choice of eggs sets you up for the day and there is a good spa facility where we were able to soak our aching muscles after a good day of hiking. Definitely worth a visit.
We absolutely loved our stay at the Casa Luma and it remains a highlight as an idyllic, relaxing interlude in our travels in Argentina. The villa feels as if it belongs in Tuscany but has a view over one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. We were looked after really well by the owners. Special thanks also to Sergio who served amazing cocktails and gave great restaurant recommendations. and Sandra, who anticipated our every need at breakfast. We felt like very special house guests in a beautiful home. The sundeck around the pool was a super place to relax after a day out. To be honest, we took the day trip around the seven lakes in the region and decided that we had the best vista to return to at Luma Casa! The hotel also arranged a boat trip for us so that we could walk the12km trail through the Arrayanes National Park peninsular and helped us do our flight check-ins. Although there is no restaurant in the villa, there are several within walking distance (or a short taxi ride) - Chop Chop serves excellent steaks, cooked to perfection and is one of closest. There is a room service menu at the villa, so there is no need to go hungry if you want to laze around the pool during the day. Also they have lovely spa facilities. We really recommend this place for an indulgent, relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings.…
The hotel was small and private enough to make you feel like exclusive guests but big enough to know you are staying in a very sophisticated and grand villa. We liked the fact that there were only a few couples staying due to the size of the hotel. When we parked our car they must have seen or heard us as the baggage cart arrived immediately to take our bags - due to the terrain of the land and steepness, this was the only way to get the bags to the hotel. The staff were delightful, warm and very friendly, professional and helpful. We had something that required refrigeration and as there was no fridge in our room, they were happy to put it in their kitchen fridge for us. When we asked for recommendations for dinner, they suggested The Social Club. Don’t be put off by the boring name, what an amazing setting with the most spectacular view of the lake. It is very close, fantastic food as well. We went back for a second night. The hotel is tastefully decorated with the most divine sitting rooms and of course the view of the lake. We felt very spoilt enjoying a gin and tonic late one afternoon, sitting on our balcony admiring the view. Breakfast had a good selection of continental plus we could order eggs. A most memorable and enjoyable stay. If I had to find fault, a fridge in our room would have been great. Our two deck chairs could not be used due to the canvas coming away at the sides. When we brought this to their attention, the chairs were replaced promptly.…
