I wanted to visit the Welsh area of Patagonia, on my way back from an Antarctic trip with my niece, but needed a Welsh-speaking venue, as I do not speak Spanish. Ana, the owner, answered my email inquiry immediately, in perfect Welsh. (She also speaks Spanish and English.) Ana went out of her way to make my two-day stay pleasant,...

Great hotel, in a central location and very good value for the price. Rooms were comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Ana the owner was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and spoke Welsh. I would thoroughly recommend. Diolch.

Standard old style "Welsh" B&B. By far the best feature is the owner going above and beyond to help find and organise a local trip (in our case a boat trip from Puerto Reason to see dolphins that turned into whale-watching) as well as helping us navigate local transport.

We visited Plas y Coed in Gaiman as part of the 150th anniverary of the Welsh settlement in Patagonia. Sadly we didn't have the opportunity to stay at the Plas y Coed B&B (though I've a friend who has and said it was fantastic) - just a few hours to sample the wonderful hospitality and incredible traditional Welsh tea (tip...

My review is about tea rather than the guesthouse. Fantastic tea and welcome form Ana. I would say unmissable if you visit Gaiman. Tea was huge and authentic Welsh baked goods and unlimited tea. We came by taxi from Porth Madryn and sadly only had a few hours there. Ana is so welcoming and it was lovely to speak Welsh...

This review isnt just about the quality of the accomodation but about how the owner went above and beyond to help us. We were having a very tough time on our travels for various reasons. We were having a lot of banking troubles which had resulted in us not been able to hire the car we had booked to get...

Gaiman lives from a Welsh legacy that is only visible from the occasional Welsh names of certain streets and a couple of establishments like Plas y Coed which offer basic accommodation and a "Welsh Tea". One will struggle to find any authentic Welsh culture in this town, but the owner did indeed speak fluent Welsh to the neighboring table at...

This is the best place to stay in the Gaiman. Delightfully decorated and plenty of tea and Welsh cakes available on request. Ana who is the owner is very welcoming and will give you an interesting insight into the history of the Welsh settlers.

Patagonia as our honeymoon destination was entirely motivated by the Welsh connection, so rather a lot hung on our four-day stay in Gaiman. Anna, the owner at Plas y Coed, really made the stay special for my Welsh-speaking fiancée, and was a never-ending source of interesting information and tasty Welsh cakes!

During our recent trip to Chubut we were fortunate to stay at this beautiful place. Gaiman is not very big which meant that all the sights and restaurants were within a comfortable walk of Plas y Coed. The proprietor, Ana, speaks Welsh, Spanish and English and is a well known and respected person in the local community. The accommodation is...

“Try and get a room away from the road, it can get a bit noisy at the adjacent park areas at the weekend.”

“Probably best to ask for a room at the back of the house away from the road, not a real problem for us, we stayed at the front, but for light sleepers passing pedestrians and barking dogs might be an issue.”
