Booked on the run, Hosteria Canela B&B in Esquel sounded good but we didn't really know what to expect. We arrived and were welcomed with great charm by Jorge and Veronica and immediately felt at home. Hosteria Canela was a rare gem: civilised, comfortable and spacious, beautiful garden and delicious breakfast - with the added interest of being surrounded by... More

Nice place, nice people, helpful and good service. We had a very large room in the top of the house. The bed was terrible but with the other beds we luckily had an alternative. Hopefully the owner replace the double bed.

Hello Willy P Thanks for your review. Sorry about that bed on our big room for 4 (fortunately you could make use of the other two). We renovated some matresses and bedding a few days ago and after your comment we changed that one too. Best wishes, Jorge More

Canela is set in a quiet but convenient location. The room we had was in the roof and was quirky, interesting and very quiet. The owners were also very informative about the region, particularly about the Welsh links with the past, our main reason for visiting Esquel and Trelew.

Difficult to imagine better accommodation. Beautifully decorated and clean rooms in an interesting building. Hosteria Canela is situated a short distance outside town (walkable or use a taxi). The owner is extremely helpful and speaks both English and Spanish. Very convenient for visiting La Trochita, the Old Patagonia Express.

This can't be the no. 1 hosteria in Esquel. Facilties are basic, internet is on the slow side and the mattress has passed its sell by date long ago. The host is friendly enough but the price is simply not right.

Dear guest, Sorry to hear that you were not too satisfied with our place. We would have much appreciated if you had let us know of any inconvenience while still here, so we could have done something about it (for example changing you to a softer/harder mattress bed). There are some things, though, we can`t improve by ourselves. One is... More

Hosteria Canela is a delightful B&B in a quiet, peaceful area of Esquel. The bedroom was very homely and comfortable with a lovely clean bathroom. The breakfast was delicious and kept me going all day!

We stayed there unfortunately only for one night, when a volcano nearby errupted. Our plans had to be changed due to this. Jorge was very helpful and gave us a lot of useful tips. Thank you once again. The spacious double room is very lovely decorated. Also the breakfast was delicious. A very good description on the website how to... More

We stayed at Hosteria Canela, the accommodation of our choice, for two days. And what a pleasure that was! We were spoiled from the very beginning. Our spacious room was warm and welcoming. The main house is a lovely, dignified setting for many, many an interesting conversation with our host, not just the delicious and ample breakfasts. When we first... More

A lovely place on a quiet street in Esquel. Jorge, Veronica and Patricia were wonderful hosts. Jorge helped us set up a fly fishing excursion and recommended a great fishing guide, Andy Muller. Jorge's English speaking ability was most helpful. We would definitely recommend Canela to anyone wanting a quiet, quaint room while in Esquel. Bill from Arizona
