No aircondition, the fan didn’t work, and the staff did not repair the fan even though we asked them for a repair. There is a barbaque grill for the guests to use, and the smell is almost unbareable. I do not recommend this place.

Generally I had a great stay at Ferienhaus. The location is excellent, slap bang in the middle of the city and walkable from the bus station and to most other things you would want to visit. The bunk bed was comfortable if very rickety - I felt it every time the person below me moved and vice versa. The room was pretty hot - no A.C. in the 4 bed dorm, just a fan. The dorm was spacious for 4 of us and I was lucky that 2/3 showers I took were hot. Wi-Fi was good. The breakfast was below average. Unfortunately an experience with the manager at the end left a sour taste. Since January 2017 foreign visitors and Argentine nationals resident abroad do not have to pay IVA tax on lodgings in Argentina, if paying by foreign debit or credit card, PayPal, Bitcoin or any other foreign method of payment. Many hostels try and get round this by saying that their business is too small or by only accepting cash. Well, I paid by Visa Debit and got all the usual excuses, which ended up in a debate with the manager until she realised I wasn't going to give in. It shouldn't have been a difficult conversation but it was and definitely overshadowed what had otherwise been a great stay.

I loved the location of the hostel and everything was very clean. There were not many guests so it was very quiet as well. Only drawback: it was very cold in Salta and the hostel is organized around a courtyard so it was cold. But I decided to stay 5 nights in this hostel so I liked it a lot after all

At first it was a really nice hostel, but sadly the morning after my first night was really awful, I left my wallet for half an hour in my room. and when I returned It was stolen. The hostel owner did not take any responsibility nor any action to solve my problem I was stucked in Salta for 36 hs more without any help, money and passport to return. It is a nice place but it is not well managed and it does not take care of the proper services and attention to its clients.

Stayed here for one night which was one night too much. The 6 bed dorm I was in absolutely stank and was so humid with no air flow I could barely sleep. The bed comes unmade so you have to put the sheets on yourself no matter what time you arrive. The kitchen is dirty and the bathrooms rarely had soap. Breakfast was standard for argentina but bread was stale. Checkout is frustratingly early at 10am. Worst part was getting charged 80 pesos for use of the kitchen to make a sandwich before my 18 hour bus. The cheek of it. Will not be recommending. Avoid.

We stayed here for one night. Friendly, accommodating staff. Spacious, clean but simple dorm rooms. A nice quiet clientele. Baggage storage. Hot showers. Breakfast a bit simple but typical of Argentina.

The staff is really nice and helpful, all of them. The dorms are OK beds are comfortable and rooms are clean. Several shower rooms with hot water so no problem even if the hotel fills up quickly. Breakfast is correct coffee tea orange juice bread marmalade cereals !! A good start for the day. Possibility to use the kitchen. It is clean well equipped and easy to use. Good chance to meet with other resident in a nice atmosphere. The wifi is good. Possibility to leave luggages for the day (extra cost). Towels are also extra costs. So overall a great and recommended experience !

The lady at the front desk was really nice. Always smiling and helpful even though her English was poor. The afternoon guy cannot be bothered and can be even rude. When we arrived at 2pm we were told the laundry didn't arrive yet and will need to wait for the linen. 8pm still no linen which started to be annoying as we wanted to rest and had no way to lie down. When i told the receptionist he looked at me like i was a demanding customer and just said he was not his fault. 9.30pm finally we got our linen. The rooms are dark and smell funny. They probably do not wash the blanket and duvets. They stink and are dirty. The rooms have individual lockers. There is no heater int he rooms. There is only one plug in the dorms. The bathroom looks new but they have issue for water draining. Although they are cleaned each morning before 8am and then again later on. Same with toilets. Hot shower are a must. The breakfast is good for SA standards. There is a no noise policy after 10pm which is not always enforced. It can be noisy at night as the building resonate. Mainly full of families.

erienhaus Hostel We booked a double room with shared bathroom on the upper level. The room consists in a double bed with a single bed. There are a 2 closets that you can lock (you need your own locker). Bed was confortable and clean. The shared toilets on the upper level are clean with toiket paper, soap. The showers are on the first floor. There are male and female sections. It consists in a row of 4 or 5 showers withs curtains in front and walls between them. There are limited place to put your clothes when you shower. It lacks a bit of privacy but it's ok. The shared areas (living room and kitchen) are ok. There are plenty of tables to sit and eat. The kitchen has a lot of ustensils and pots to cook. The breakfast is ok. It consists in coffee/tea/milk, bread, dulce del leche, jam and limited butter. Wifi works well mainly from downstairs in the common areas. You can book Willka Turismo excursions through the hostel and get a discount on normal price. Location is super good, you are in the centre close to museums and shops. The bus terminal is a 15-20 min walk.
