We had a double room with bathroom and our stay here was wonderful. Very very clean and pretty hostel! It was by far the best one in Argentina during our 3week trip. Breakfast is also good and we felt very much at home here. 👍🏼 The location is perfect to also visit Purmamarca And Salina Grandes.
Beautiful building, extremely comfortable rooms and great management (Tomi, Santi and Luz). Breakfast with the best view and happy staff, two blocks from downtown and yoga classes. If you arrive from the city, after a couple of days everything seems lighter.
The hostel is located just a few minutes walk from the centre of Tilcara - it’s only a small town so nowhere is far. As with the rest of our travels, the staff were awesome and the room was clean. They had a small but nice breakfast selection including home made bread which was delicious! When we stayed in Tilcara, it was snowing in the town for the first time in 33 years! We really struggled to keep warm in our room, it got down to something like -5c at night. The small heater and single glazed window really didn’t cut it but we just put it down to the freak weather. I’d stay again but maybe in Summer next time!
We really enjoyed our two night stay particularly because the staff are so friendly, and the common space where breakfast is served has such an inviting feel. Special shout-out to Sante who was so kind and helpful. We had a good sized room at the front of the hotel. It's a fairly basic place but clean, comfortable and just a short walk to Tilcara's main square. Breakfast could use a few more options but we did enjoy the juicer with lots of fresh oranges. This is a great choice in a really lovely town.We would definitely stay again.
The hostel is really beautiful. You can park your car in front of the Hostel, the rooms are spacious, guys who are working here are very friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi is not good, but you can't expect good Wi-Fi in the mountains.
I was suppose to stay three nights and ended up staying five. The hostel was so nice and the owners (Sandy & Luis) really know what they are doing and well there customer service skill and attention is one of the best you will get in the world and I am not just saying for a hostel this is hotel standard. They really know how to make a really nice friendly environment by the way they treat everyone and I can only commend them for this as this then helps guests to really relax and well it makes for a great environment for everyone. The breakfast is an incredible spread and really very very generous with everything. It is self service and they are very quick to replenish anything like the cakes once they are finished etc. The communal area where you have breakfast I think is fantastic and really a nice place to relax and socialise. The kitchen is also nice if you want to cook yourself. The cleaners they have for the bedrooms and all other areas I found to be exceptional. The beds were very comfortable and they make your bed everyday which is hotel standard, your given a towel, shampoo, conditioner and soap again something you would get know where else except for a hotel. The view also from the communal area is beautiful and I spent much time just relaxing staring out the windows at the view. In the bedrooms the single beds all have sockets beside them and some have lamps. The showers were very nice and really hot which I really enjoyed also. The location of the hotel was perfect just outside the main square on a quite road and also something I didn’t mention but is very important to backpackers the WiFi is very good considering where Tilcara is located. I had a lot of research to do while there and was able to spend one full day just relaxing and doing this without a problem with the WiFi which was great. Overall this hotel/hostel offers extremely good value for money and well I can’t thank the owners and staff enough for all there hard work and I think they are doing an incredible job. Oh Tilcara itself as a location is also really nice and a great place to discover Humahuaca and Purmamarca from and well as I said before this hostel I would recommend to everyone. Thanks again for everything Luis, Sandy & Orazio. Kind Regards Pearse …
We agree with others on this being a nice and comfortable hotel. Wonderful rooms and good breakfast.Excellent views of mountains. The other plus, is that it is about 5 blocks from main square which allows for a nice stroll to your hotel at night and it avoids morning noises. Excellent staff.
This is a hotel with one hostel room. The room is very spacious and I like that it doesn't have bunk beds, it's all single beds with individual lockers for each bed. There is one bathroom inside the room with a very nice hot shower. If the room is full with all 8 people it can be a problem in the morning to shower, but it wasn't during my stay, but I didn't see a second shower for use. Breakfast is nice, some of the staff is very friendly and helpful. They have laundry service for a reasonable price which was very handy. They gave good information how to go to Purmamarca on my own instead of paying the expensive tour prices. Cons: it's a bit far from the bus station, still walking distance, but through an unpaved road and uphill wifi doesn't work in the room, it works fine in the common areas, but very slow, which it's a problem in the area and not really with the hostel…
Cute hostel not far from the main square. Great breakfast clean room and comfortable beds. No wifi in the rooms. The information about busses have sometimes not been up to date and the volunteers living in the dorm have been quite noisy at night, but in general a nice hostel.
Gorgeous stay at Antigua Tilcara, hands down the best place to stay in the neighborhood. The place is warm, inviting, and clean. The rooms are well decorated. We were lucky to stay in the Triple Room with the balcony overlooking the entrance which had full view of the mountains. Staff were sweet and helpful. Our 2 year old was sick and we were provided accurate information about where to purchase medicine in town and what time the pharmacy would be open. We enjoyed being able to purchase wine in the communal/kitchen room and lounge about in an inviting setting. The space has a casual vibe, perfect for what we were looking for. The hotel has both 'hotel' rooms and a less expensive hostel option.
