I took my 24 year old son tubing at this lodge. We did not stay there but would like to sometime. We took the shorter route which was enough adventure for us and very reasonable. We had a blast. I highly recommend!!!

As an Arizona native I thought I had seen it all. From ghost towns in Southern Arizona to slot canyons in the northern part of the state, I've explored a lot. I had even been to Saguaro Lake several times. So when I was invited to come to Saguaro Lake Ranch for a tour and dinner I was excited to check it out. But when I arrived I was BLOWN AWAY by how beautiful the surroundings are. It's about a 35 minute drive from Scottsdale but feels like you are in a different world and a different time. I got to see a couple of the rooms and was served a lovely dinner and couldn't wait to go back! Fast forward a few weeks, I couldn't stop thinking about the Ranch's beauty so decided to book a stay for Mother's Day. We had friends join us and the ranch staff was super accommodating putting our rooms next to each other. We all enjoyed the Saturday night cook out, smores by the fire, visiting the horses, swimming and exploring. A nice breakfast (blueberry pancakes, eggs, hash browns, bacon, fruit, and more) was included with our room rate. My favorite part of the stay was waking up early, sitting on the patio with a hot cup of coffee and just soaking up the peaceful surroundings and stunning views. As other reviewers mentioned, the rooms could use a bit of updating. New soft goods, a fresh coat of paint and upgraded bathroom amenities would do wonders for the place, especially considering the nightly rates. However, even as is, our cottages were clean and roomy. The bed was comfortable and the A/C worked well (despite being a little noisy). To me, none of these things are worth knocking a star off of their rating. The setting alone is worth a million stars. We LOVED our stay, as did our friends. We're already planning our next stay and have more friends that want to join us. Saguaro Lake Ranch is a true hidden gem and would absolutely recommend this property to anyone that wants a taste of real Arizona.

We rented kayaks for 3 hours for $50.00 each. They come with the kayaks and meet you in the parking lot and get get all set to go and you just make sure you are back by 1:00pm The last is so calm and beautiful. We packed a picnic lunch and had it at one of the little beaches we found! It’s like a hidden gem! I can’t wait to do it again!!!

Saguaro Lake Ranch is a perfect example of what happens when Mother Nature and excellent hosts open their arms to visitors. We booked a cabin at the ranch hoping for beauty, calm, and adventure - and all our expectations were exceeded. The location is gorgeous. From the front porch of our cabin we drank good strong coffee and watched the sun come up over the mountains and light up the sky. At night, we drank wine and watched the world turn golden. In between we hiked, had fabulous breakfasts with our fellow travelers, and took a stunning kayak trip that will go down as one of our all time favourite mornings ever (and that includes Christmas). Our accommodation was exactly what we wanted. Comfortable, spotless, and free of TV. Our little porch was perfect for staring at the sky or meeting the neighbors. At 7 am we could smell the coffee wafting from the lodge, and some days we’d walk down the hill to pet the horses. The heated pool was a lovely way to end the afternoon, and the bin of beach towels was an added bonus. The people who ran the large were kind and friendly. The setting is amazing, and less than an hour away from the Phoenix airport. There is so much to do in the area that we had to remind ourselves not to overbook. One morning, as we sat in front of the fire with scrambled eggs and road maps, our wise host suggested we shouldn’t overdo it. ‘Take some time just to enjoy the ranch’ he said. And we did.
