Detailed Reviews
A great place for an extended stay due to its extensive amenities (sports, music, art studios, activities).
The Resort is very well laced out, making most places reachable with a 5 to 7 minute walk.
It is well maintained (although there seemed to be 3 to 4 maintenance workers hanging around the shed at any one time just visiting).
RV park portion is a bit close together and no picnic tables are provided (would really be a great addition). Downside for a long term stay is RVs have to pay ALL utilities (~ min $120/mo) - so not a budget RV resort.
But if you enjoy many activities and like to participate in engaging & fun activities, this is the place for you.

First time back in this resort since they opened the new RV section. Try have large well spaced sites with parking on very good concrete pads. This is not a KOA (Age Qualified) or rural resort but for an Urban setting they have done a good design and there are a good number of activities available. My wife and I will be back again

Wonderful resort, well thought out layout. Felt at home here and will definitely return! Loved the sports complex! The amenities were all beautiful and well kept. The streets are wide for maneuvering your rv, trash and recycling bins at each site.

Stayed for over two months during the COVID Spring of 2020. Now back for the winter season. Although the sites are nicely paved they are close together. Facilities are generally nice but limited for use due to Covid-19 precautions.
This is NOT a dog friendly RV section. Closest dog run is about a 1/4 mile away in the old park model section and if you leave your pooch outside, the rent-a-cop security folks will come around an have you either be outside or bring the pet inside. This makes it very inconvenient if you are trying to vacuum or clean inside. Tact is quite lacking in the gate staff.

1. They want to charge $30 for an early check in>> During off season! Ridiculous! They wouldn't budge for the life of them. The campground was 2/3 empty. We could see our site from where we parked to get registered. EMPTY. After making it very clear we were not paying that (and she couldn't tell me what that money would do) she suggested we drive around for 2 hours. Or park at the Albertson's up the road. After looking at her with huge confusion, I said, "With a 60' rig?" Then when I suggested we just stay where we were parked for 2 hours, that was a hard no. So what we did was pulled out of the park, turned right into the cul de sac and parked there for 2 hours. We parked, walked back in to the park to visit our friends that were already there and set up. 2. Someone had washed their dog items in the "NON" dog washing machines. When I told them about it at the desk they thanked me so much for letting them know. They did NOTHING about it. Was still like that 2 days later. 3. The sewer smell was putrid. Couldn't use the bathroom in the clubhouse because the smell would knock you over. The smell also carried into the laundry room. My husband and cousin would take containers of water and pour it down the drains and said their ventilation is in much repair. 4. Pretty much everything shuts down after the snowbirds leave. There were a few activities going, but nothing worth mentioning. I would suggest looking for somewhere else to go. This place has been taken over by new management, owners?? Not sure who, but it's definitely changed.

Overall, good value. Well kept outdoor facilities. Very quiet 55+ property. Staff jumped on any of our requests and the security seemed very active and welcoming at each entrance. We would recommend this place to others.

Excellent location EXCEPT for the street noise that starts early and goes late. Very clean and well maintained. Good and conveniently located amenities. Do not stay at Monte Vista if you have a wi/fi requirement. Event with state-of-the art equipment you will not have workable wi/fi. Makes no sense in 2022 given the technology available and the fact that people work remote today and will well into the future. At $1,500 a month plus water, sewer, garbage and electricity fees, one should have workable wi/fi.

Resort was clean and well organized. RV site was simply a concrete pad and gravel. No trees or amenities. WiFi was a subscription with a $99 hookup fee. No cable TV and it was also a subscription with a special exterior antenna required. We only stay in one location for a short time so we did without both. Facilities were modern, clean and well maintained. Also a very secure location.

WiFi is only available at a common area – not at your site. It’s a brand new park, and they should have WiFi for all!
There are no patio tables or picnic tables at your site. We’ve stayed in 80+ RV parks in our USA tour, and it’s a rare park that doesn’t provide some sort of picnic table. In a resort that’s this new and this nice (other than these two things), it’s unheard of.

This was our first stay at Monte Vista but it definitely won't be our last. We really liked our RV site. It was a very well thought out RV site with concrete pads for parking the RV and car. The utilities were positioned in just the right area so it was easy to hook up. The water pressure was good and the 50 amp electric was stable. The streets are wide enough to easily maneuver into the site. The campground is located within numerous stores and all the entertainment in Mesa. We throughly enjoyed our stay.

We didn’t have any noise the 3 weeks we were there. It is across the street and unless you are placed at the front any noise would be muted. We love that park. Are going again this November
For the most part dogs are supposed to be kept in the pet section of the resort. There is a dog run in that section which is the only place dogs are permitted to walk - not on the streets or any public areas. However, RV spaces are located throughout the village and, if there are no spaces available in the pet section, guests may be located in other areas. Should that be the case, it would be necessary to "carry" you dog to the pet section to walk him. For more updated information you might want to contact the resort's office.
The free WiFi is located all around the pool/ courtyard and library. I found it was extremely fast.
