We just got back from a three night stay at the Secret Garden B & B and it was fantastic! Of course the area and Iguazu falls are incredible but John (the owner) was extremely helpful and went out of his way to ensure a great time for all his guests. He had great restaurant suggestions and ideas to enhance...

We recently stayed at the Secret Garden for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. The Iguazu Falls are spectacular, and the Secret Garden provided a comfortable oasis to retreat to at night. As numerous other reviews have described, John offers guests caipirinhas (and delicious bruschetta) every evening. This provided a great forum to relax, meet other guests, and exchange...

Although we stayed only one night in John's property, we have had a lots of impressions! Two active amazing days around waterfalls, one beautiful evening on the terrace surrounded of green plants, cosy room, excellent breakfast, but - most of all - John and his guests, conversations between different nation guests; all together makes an excellent atmosphere, one can only...

date: 26,27 of December, 2008 I do recommend "Secret Garden" to those who travel to Iguazú, except family with small children. We travelled in Argentina for two weeks and staying in "Secret Garden" was one of the nicest memory in our once-in-a-lifetime trip. First: It is not a traditional hotel. It has only three rooms which are specious and cosy....

A Secret friend is what the owner , John Fernandes, is, because he helped us so much. And, oh yes -- the place is great. It's intimate and beautiful and cozy and all the things you'd like in a far-away nature trip. John organized everything quickly for us -- had a car and driver at the airport to pick us...

We had a wonderful time at the Secret Garden. John is an attentive and gracious host. The rooms were large and very attractive. The grounds are full of plants and birds. The Secret Garden is located near Iguazu Park. We took the city bus for a few dollars. The breakfasts were filling and Maria (the cook) always made me hot...

We spent 3 nights with John in November and had a marvelous time. The rooms are large, simply, but elegantly, decorated, bed very comfortable, and great shower pressure. Extremely comfortable in general. Breakfast was very basic (toast and jam), but the coffee was excellent. We toured both sides of the falls with a private driver arranged by John, and while...

I recently enjoyed a 3-night visit to The Secret Garden in Puerto Iguazu, Argentina. The host, John, and his wonderful staff, Camilla and Maria, will see to your every need with kindness and a smile. The driver that John arranged to meet me at the airport and take me back was also a true gentleman. My room was more than...

This is the best place to base yourself for a visit to the falls in our opinion. Yes the Sheraton has fabulous views but it feels like a million Sheraton's, and it doesn't have John and his guests for conversation, the slightly mad Roxie (John's small dog), John's cocktails and home made jam, or hummingbirds visiting the verandah at breakfast....

Very nice rooms, good shower with hot water, nice furnishings, good location near bus stops and supermarkets. The breakfast was only toast with a variety of fruit jams. A walk of 10 min or so to good restaurants. Not my favorite place, but it was good. We ate at a restaurant near Acqua that was good and reasonably priced. John...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
An ideal place to jump-start your visit to the Iguazu Falls in Argentina. High on concept the Secret Garden is populated by tree ferns and other shade-loving plants salvaged from the slash and burn rural and logging activities decimating the surrounding rain-forest. Our location allows you to get a feel of living in a small South American frontier town and has easy access to urban amenities. ... more   less
