This place looked like somebody had a good idea but couldn't really execute it. The rooms were dark, and the plumbing was iffy. We only ate once in the restaurant (other than breakfast, which was acceptable) and it was pretty awful. The furniture in the lodge building/restaurant was unbelievably uncomfortable. Not many people staying there in early March 2020. Looked to me like this place is on the verge of going out of business (and now that it's late March 2020, and Covid-19 is out of control, they almost certainly are). Nice swimming pool, though.
The hotel is a lodge type hotel. It locates in a jungle like setting. It is nice setting if you like nature. However the maintenance of this hotel is not very good. Spiderweb can be seen at the door. Since the surrounding is jungle type of environment. Bugs might like to keep you companion if you don’t mind.
As the advertising suggests, this lodge is very rustic and located within a jungle like environment. This certainly adds to the charm and provides authenticity to their design choices. Rooms are OK and provide basic essentials. Air conditioning in our room was quite noisy but ceiling fans are present. Other reviews note the leakiness of shower enclosures and ours was no different. Just beware that there will be a puddle, bidet side of the screen once you finish and avoid slipping on it as one of us nearly did. We chose to eat at the restaurant 3 times, twice for dinner and once for lunch. We had read positive reviews of the dining and we thought the food was very well prepared while choices are somewhat limited compared to normal restaurants. THis is not a criticism because the quality of food was very good. However, the occasion we chose to eat lunch was disappointing. We suspect there are no kitchen staff or chefs on during lunch because the food was very odd. The platter seemed to contain strips of Milanese which are probably left over from the previous nights dinner. The remaining components were badly put together. All dishes arrived with cold fries. To the credit of the waiter, she brought back a plate of warn fries, unprompted. This lodge is located about 4km out of "town" so beware that easy strolls into the nightlife aren't possible, you will need a cab, which can take 10-15 minutes to organise.…
Wonderful place in the middle of the rain forest. Friendly staff - good food and a tropical downpour to make it complete. All of the rooms are out in the trees in small bungalows and there are lots of umbrellas.
This is clearly a hotel where people travel through because the staff is not friendly and barely speaks English. The bedsheets, towels and napkins were old and full of stains. We found this disgusting. The food was overcooked and tasted very strange. We were glad to check out early the next morning.
