The hotel may be the best option in Formosa. However, it is not a true 5 star hotel. Worn-out rooms and facilities, old towels, stained chairs. The restaurant has limited options, only one dish for vegetarians.
This is basically the only moderately upscale hotel in Formosa, and fortunately they don't exercise its monopoly power, as prices are in line with hotels of similar category in the region. I had lunch and breakfast, and both were surprisingly good. The Yacaré (the tail of a small alligator) is worth tasting. Breakfast had good choices. The room was fancy, comfortable and quiet. The public facilities of the hotel were ample, including the two pools that also served as fountains, and in tone with the location. Everything was fine, except the WiFi that did not work at all. So if you plan to work in the room, better have a Plan B.
This was my first visit, something I´m looking forward to repeat in the near future. The visit was on a "strictly business" basis in order to direct a seminar on marketing and communications for the local university. The first impression at the front desk was very favourable, being taken care of by Katia. The details pertaining to my visit also received a very profesional attention by Casandra and Liliana, the latter in charge of houseeking and the front desk. Their restaurant offers an array of fish, one of the local products as the hotel is on the river side. I recommend the Surubi, which is served in various forms and presentations. I tried them all and was more tan satisfied every time. A place to visit and enjoy. Their amenities are of a high qaulity, suggesting that they should add mouthwash and tissue paper.…
Until recently, there was only one reasonable hotel in Formosa. This hotel is the best option for a comfortable stay. Staff is helpful and friendly. Rooms are quite big, very clean, with large closets and beds that ensure a good night's sleep. The bathroom could use more light, but is spacious and neat. Amenities are not extraordinary but are OK. The buffet breakfast is fine, and includes somewhat 'primitive' home-made pastries. I did not have the chance to use the wi-fi connection. Overall, this hotel has a good quality - price relation.
