A small, cozy boutique hotel and a service that is very difficult to match. The entire infrastructure is cozy, with quality taps. A restaurant still under construction but with its replacement it replaces (and surpasses) any other option in the city. Golf, pool, bicycles... and much more. You have to live the experience...

+1
We stayed for 6 days and we had a very, very good time.
The excellent hotel, surrounded by vineyards, the excellent cleanliness and the attention of the staff, it couldn't be better
At first we thought it could be many days but they flew by
100% recommendable

We spent two nights at Algodon Wine Estates in late November 2009 and had a wonderful time. Everyone was extremely helpful and made us feel at home, right down to homemade truffles left on our pillows at night. Our room opened out onto a comfortable covered patio with couches that overlooked the quiet, peaceful grounds and pool area. We ate one dinner up at the club house and were pleasantly surprised by the upscale service, the delicious food and the incredibly reasonable prices. (We say "surprised" because the restaurant was empty when we arrived, so we doubted whether we made a good choice. Turns out we were just American early birds who eat at 8 -- everyone else showed up after 10 pm.) The breakfast was fantastic - you have the option of having it delivered to your outside patio table, which we highly recommend. We left feeling that we had found an exceptional bargain - much cheaper than comparable lodging in the Mendoza area. Driving from Mendoza to San Rafael is interesting if a bit stark, as the highway traverses a very arid high plain with nice views of the Andes to the West. But the town of Mendoza itself was really gorgeous - and we found it to be more pleasant than the Maipu area of Mendoza, where we spent a few nights prior. San Rafael has wide avenues with shade trees and the vineyards look like vineyards. We would recommend a trip to San Rafael and we would highly recommend spending a few nights at the very hospitable, comfortable, and affordable Algodon Wine Estates while there.

Good place but need several improves to provide excellent services!
For Argentina it’s a overpriced place and they don’t have the basic like a zero coke for who can’t with sugar and after tree days they didn’t provide it, for the kind of hotel they sell on internet it’s not tolerate to me.
Golf class and wine tastings are ok, they offer a bike that is very new and nice. Place is going trough some refurbishes and getting bigger but not bother who are in the hotel.
Basically I think they need to improve services and how to spoil the clients, I have stay in another hotels in Argentina and never experienced that kind of service! Minibar wasn’t replace fast we needed to ask always.

We went with my husband and son for 3 nights, the place is nice but honestly it is not worth the USD 500 a night even by chance, the attention of Daniel, Claudio, Jesica and all the staff is 11 points.
The environment is nice, but nothing more, it doesn't have the service they charge, don't spend your money there
The food is very good, the chardonnay noir is delicious.

This is marked as 5 stars, but I would ideally award this 4.5 stars.
We booked into Algodon for our penultimate night of our holiday, having done a lot of travelling and wine tasting, before heading back to BA and flying home. We wanted somewhere to relax and unwind in comfort and not worry about a hung. Algodon easily provided this - the rooms are lovely, large and comfortable with open private patios overlooking the gardens. The grounds are expansive and beautiful and you can wander and cycle around them at will. Staff were always friendly, helpful and on hand. Finally, top scores for the excellent restaurant which was exceptional, relaxed and had great food and wine pairings. The wines were good too, with an interesting pint noir that was remarkable for its difference from the usual heavy Malbecs/Cabs.
The only niggle in my opinion was that in our room was a Nespresso machine and some artisan chocolates that were individually price. I'm not really sure what this was about - if you're willing to shell out on staying at Algodon and eating at the restaurant, I'd expect that a 30/40 pesos chocolate in the room was complementary (I.e. like the bikes, wine tasting, tennis courts, etc). Small things, but the difference between 4.5 and 5 stars in this case, as otherwise this place got the rest spot on and is a lovely setting to relax in.

Unfortunately I wavered between giving this a 3 and a 4 - the 4 won because the service was excellent and the rooms were good. The 3 was considered because one of the main reasons we went to Algodon Wine Estates & Champion Club was to golf at their Championship golf course which turned out to be a 9 hole course with barely any grass. The pictures of the golf course looked nice and the description sounded good - the actual course though was a disaster. Service was excellent, the pool and the rooms were great, the food at the restaurant average. Sometimes the meals in the restaurant were good (breakfast) other times not so good - hence my average rating. Of you want to relax for a few days then yes a good place but slightly expensive. It just was not what we were looking for.

Response from TurismoAWE, Guest Relations Manager at Algodon Wine Estates
Responded Apr 23, 2015
Dear CDNTRAVELLERS2, Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your thoughtful review and are sorry to hear that your experience at our Championship Golf Course was not up to your expectations. We clearly missed the opportunity to inform you at an early stage that our golf course had suffered damage due to an unfortunate hail storm in the days leading up to your visit. We apologize as this is certainly not the type of experience that we aim to provide. Please know that I have shared your comments with our maintenance team. We truly hope that you come back and visit us in the future and experience our beautiful Championship Golf Course at its best conditions. Cordially,

This is quite a unique hotel -just eight or nine rooms in the middle of vineyards, overlooking distant mountains. It was a pleasure to have breakfast in the park, to spend time (alone!) at the pool or to go running by the vineyards and the golf course.
What I liked:
- Privacy: Even with high occupancy, you hardly ever see other guests since the place is large but with just a few rooms
- Free espresso and snacks all day long
- Great park, vineyards, etc.
- Pool
- Simple but nice room, with great beds
- Very attentive staff
- Decent wifi (considering it's in the middle of nowhere)
What I didn't like:
- Price: Over USD 180 per night for a standard double room
- Basic breakfast (reasonable considering the size of the hotel)
- Location: Wasn't an issue since I knew beforehand, but Algodon is ~25 min away from downtown San Rafael by car -however, it's very convenient to go to Atuel Canyon and other local attractions
If you're OK with the price, it's a great place to explore the area or to just relax by the pool and the vineyards.

This is the most perfect place to stay in San Rafael, with a beautiful swimming pool, golf course, tennis courts. The location is perfect, and surrounded by nature. The real difference here is that the service is really first class and on a different level to most hotels in Argentina. People are friendly, efficient, and charming. It feels like staying in a country estate. We loved it.
