Location excellent but not worth it for one second. One staff member verbally abused me for having the temerity to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. They put guests in the same room as the volunteers who work there while we also had to share a dorm with the owner who slept there after partying until 6am. Was confronted by another staff member for talking in the room at 2pm in the afternoon. Genuinely the most bizarre experience I've ever had in a hostel. We left a day early rather than stay another minute in the place. Owner refunded the last night in fairness but an absolute joke nonetheless. Don't bother. Shambles.

We stayed for 3 nights in a private room during our trip to Mendoza. I will admit that the location is excellent and it has a good curb appeal, and that’s really all that’s good about it. Let me explain: 1-many at the reception do not speak functional English (after all they do cater to foreign tourists!!). That became a problem when cancelling a mountain trip as the front desk person did not understand what we were trying to tell him. We ended up paying for the full tour without even having been on it. That means the Hostel did not even forfeit their share of the amount and share responsibility for this mishap. I even offered to pay for 1 person’s tour ( there were 2 of us) so we split responsibility but to no avail. 2- the room was a disaster: bed sheets were torn, comforter had dried out white stains (...), the room furniture was literally falling apart. The pillow cases were torn wide open. 3- the shower was very temperamental with very low flow and was either boiling hot or ice cold. The shower curtain had a lot of mold. The towels were literally rags falling apart! 4- the room was extremely hot and the drain in the bathroom smelled of sewer, which made the entire room smell like it too. The air conditioning was barely able to keep the temperature at a level to be able to sleep. 5- people were slamming doors all night, making no effort to keep noise down. 6-the included breakfast was nothing more than dried bread and jelly/dulce Spend the few extra bucks and stay where you’ll get a much better night sleep and still be within walking distance to all the action!

The Cill Inn was our choice for accommodations while visiting Mendoza. We picked that particular hostel because of the close proximity to all of the action on the busy, lively street. Pros- The curb appeal and location was excellent! I would even venture to say 5 stars! However, the rest would have to be 1 star at most. Cons- The room was dirty, the sheets were ripped apart, especially my pillow case. The shower curtain was not only filthy, but also very moldy. The shower pressure was awful and either scalding hot or freezing cold. It was almost impossible to get a reasonable temperature. The few pieces of furniture in the room had doors that were basically falling off the hinges. The hostel itself had paper thin walls and you could hear everything! It was extremely noisy! Also, we booked a tour to see Aconcagua and one of us became very ill from potential food poisoning from an empanada. We made it a point to cancel the tour the night before. The front desk employee failed to pass the information along. We were made to pay for the tour even though we canceled it! All in all this hostel was very disappointing. We’ve stayed in 3 hostels on this trip so far and had a wonderful time. This hostel.. definitely stay away! For $100 per night, you can find much, much better!

They over change customers. We booked through booking.com and had a fee of $180.06 USD for 6 nights which is 10,720.61 Argentinian Pesos, yet we we charged 11,440 Argentinian Pesos. When we questioned this, we were told that they although $1 USD IS 59 Pesos, if we went to a bank they buy a dollar at 64 pesos so they are using this exchange rate which was not the agreed rate via our booking. We paid by Visa... he is not buying dollars from us... just scamming people out of more money for a less than average hostel. Pool was dirty, chairs outside broken and the rest of the place including the manager needs a bit of work. Only thing this place has going for it is it’s location.

The Chill Inn hostel is very well located on Mendoza's busiest street of restaurants and bars, Aristide Villanueva. Staff was helpful but a "confusion" happened at check out: staff though we owed them US25 more than what our reservation on booking said... It was eventually resolved. A good amount of common space: Big shared kitchen, good size living room, and decent swimming pool area. Cons: No towels provided, not very well isolated against noise. Swimming pool not heated.
