The Park Hyatt Mendoza garners appreciation for its cleanliness and prime location, lauded by many travelers as the ideal starting point to explore nearby attractions. Guests commend the spacious accommodations but suggest the rooms could benefit from modernization and maintenance. While the overall atmosphere is contemporary, some feel a decor update could enhance its appeal. The hotel's amenities, including the spa, receive positive remarks, although there are occasional mentions of maintenance and service issues. In terms of value, some guests find the costs outweigh the benefits offered.

This hotel serves the same sort of role as the Plaza or Waldorf in New York, a pre-eminent property. In fact, the facade bears the name Plaza from an older incarnation. Its location on Plaza Independencia is convenient to the restaurants on Sarmiento, and you can walk pretty much anywhere.

We booked a city view king, which was not yet ready for an early check-in, and were offered an upgrade at $50/night which we declined. Priscilla, the first of many very professional staff members we dealt with, still bothered to call to get us in to our room early.

Some commentators have referred to the rooms as dated, and while they are not in the current design mode, they are generally well maintained and luxurious. Sleep quality was very good, the air conditioning was excellent, noise and light were blocked out, and the bedding was sumptuous. The hotel provided two bottles of water nightly, not just the first night.

The bathroom/dressing area was one contiguous space with sliding doors. This gave an open feeling, but generally was one user at a time. There was a large shower and a tub. The shower did not drain well, and the marble floor was slippery, our only complaint. The amenities were hotel branded, and quite nice. They were well supplied.

With so many great restaurants nearby, we never took a full meal in the hotel. A room service beef milanesa sandwich was excellent, and the papas were still hot on arrival. We also took coffee and medialunas in the bar and via room service, the latter being quite prompt.

The outdoor pool area is almost resort like, with chairs, umbrellas, and a small bar. I recommend a visit after your long day of touring.

I'll give a final shout out to Sebastian at the Concierge desk.

I thought the hotel was worth what they charged, while expensive for the area, the level of service is at a high international standard.

The hotel’s location cannot be beat. Probably best part about the hotel is the location. Overall decor and product is good but not great. Rooms and corridors could use a refresh and are not super fresh or modern (ie obvious wear and tear). Room was well appointed and spacious bathroom with typical 5 star amenities. Service is quite nice- everyone friendly and pleased to assist. The concierge was a huge help for wine tastings and recommendations. Gym is small but adequate. Weights are cumbersome and not typical for N. American standards, but the norm for Latin America. Plenty of cafes and restaurants in walking distance - I did order dinner through room service one night and it was standard fare. Server was not very friendly, but other than that hotel is probably best option and good value for what you receive in terms of service and amenities.

Park Hyatt Mendoza might not be at the same standard level of other Park Hyatts in the world in terms of hardware as the hotel is a bit aging by now, however with my stay in the Presidential Suite for a modest price tag it would be quite hard to complain, in fact it was my first stay ever in a Park Hyatt Presidential Suite anywhere. Besides the room, apart from a few language-related misunderstandings in the restaurant, I found service to be quite good and I can recommend this hotel.

If I was staying in an entry level room, perhaps I would have a different opinion of the hotel. There were a few signs of hardware maintenance issues for example the ripped carpet in the bedroom, some water damage at the bottom of a bathroom door, and the microwave stopped working during our stay. However, for the most part the room was well designed with a nice residential feeling and hardwood floors in many rooms. The suite was obviously very spacious (150 sqm) and none of the rooms felt cramped. There were some hints of luxury such as the Bang & Olufsen speakers in the living room, but like Park Hyatt Buenos Aires the hotel did not have the standard Le Labo toiletries; instead they offered hotel branded amenities with grape scent which was fitting for the destination.

For breakfast they had free flow sparkling wine which was nice, but the rest of the food was fairly standard and noticeably inferior to PH BA, in part due to the absence of an a la carte menu to go along with the buffet. Thankfully they made grilled veggies from the kitchen upon request which was appreciated.

In-room dining was priced quite competitively compared to local restaurants rather than having the traditional price premium for the convenience of room service, so we ordered on a few occasions and enjoyed the menu.

Service was excellent before we even set foot in the hotel, including a welcome e-mail and they asked how they could make special arrangements to prepare for our arrival. We mentioned that our daughter has enjoyed receiving souvenirs from other Park Hyatt hotels before, such as a squirrel in NYC and a camel in Doha, and the hotel staff in Mendoza left a Llama in our room which our daughter was very happy to find. Housekeeping was also done exactly at time requested every morning.

In conclusion I think the hotel could use some renovations here and there but considering the price paid and the room type we had, we had a wonderful stay and I would not hesitate coming back especially given the fact that there is not a lot of competition in the area from other hotel chains anyway.

Park Hyatt is one of our favourite brands. Vienna, Paris and Buenos Aires properties are outstanding. So it was with a sense of anticipation that we arrived at the hotel in Mendoza. The frontage as in the photos is impressive. However that's it. It is a modern hotel definitely of four star standard and no way does it merit the Park Hyatt brand label. (The contrast with the Buenos Aires property, where we had just stayed is like chalk and cheese). To be specific it's a hotel which behind the facade has no character at all. The rooms are just four star standard if that; the service is almost lazy - spa staff watching football on TV in the gym; unhelpful Concierge; it looks like the kind of hotel used by mid sized corporates for sales incentive trips. The Front Office Assistant Manager Andres Masi was however very helpful but even he can't do much because this hotel needs MAJOR investment to merit being called a Park Hyatt. Our Caesar salad was served in a plastic bowl; the so called home made lemonade served in a jar. In some ways, on reflection even four stars may be too much for this hotel. A real disappointment and it does no service to what is an excellent brand.

Dear guest, We apologize for the inconvenience you experience during your stay. While we take your suggestions in account, and make sure every related area takes action to improve the service, we have of coure our difference with the Park Hyatt in Buenos Aires, being a smaller city we are in. In any case we are proud of our service level and care and are very disappointed to hear that yours wasn't as good as we are used to. We invite you to give us a second chance to prove our level and visit us in another time in Mendoza. Thank you for your review! Have a great day

Sure this may be the best hotel in Mendoza. Definitely if this was an IHG Crowne Plaza property I’d probably give it 4 or even possibly 5 stars. However this is NOT Park Hyatt quality. Let me explain. When I stay in Kuala Lumpur which I visit each year at the new Four Seasons or Mandarin Oriental which is one of the cheapest places in the world for five star hotels I get the same quality as their properties across the world. The Peninsula in Bangkok offers some amazing rates but again is the same standard as their Hong Kong property. They don’t lower their standards or have worn & tired bedrooms because they are cheap. This Hotel has a Sun operated casino so I expect many of their rooms are given free. Pictures are said to tell a thousand words. Look at these photos and let me know if these room pictures are more Park Hyatt or more Crowne Plaza/Radisson Blu?

And finally this is what Park Hyatt says about their properties on their website. “Residential inspired guest rooms and premium suites give way to livable luxury and breathtaking views. Park Hyatt hotel designers furnish the finest in elegant taste while complementing the unique characteristics and culture of the destination.”

Personally I don’t see that in this hotel. I see worn corridor carpets, stains around the toilet, basic rooms, functional hanging space without doors, showers which leave a swimming pool when you’ve finished your shower, old noisy air conditioners which whir and clatter and I’m afraid to say a smell of sewage in the lift lobby and sometimes in the room as well.

The hotel is a beautiful blend of an old colonial building with a newly built wing. The location is top and right in the middle of town with almost everything you might need only a few steps away. Public areas are tastefully furnished and beautifully decorated. Rooms are big with comfy beds and are nicely appointed, have big bathrooms and all amenities you might need. The spa is spacious and beautiful with a great outdoor pool in the lush garden area. There is a casino attached to the hotel. The restaurant with outdoor terrace facing the central square is a good place for dinner and having a drink from the bar. Buffet breakfast is very good. All hotel staff is very friendly, attentive and efficient. Highly recommended.

The Park Hyatt is a handsome, gracious, high end hotel with seamless, top notch service throughout. The rooms are large and well equipped. The bathrooms are enormous and modern. The hotel pool is well attended, large and lovely. The hotel has several of its own restaurants (and a wonderful wine bar) and the superb concierges will happily recommend and make reservations elsewhere. The hotel fronts on Mendoza’s largest square and a good breakfast is served daily on the front terrace facing the square. There is also a casino in one corner of the ground floor of the hotel. It has a separate outside entrance but can be accessed from the hotel. I found it small and sort of tacky but it seemed well-patronized by local residents and well run. The hotel has its own underground parking and is within walking distance of many shops and restaurants.
There are better views of the city and the Andes to be had from higher hotels, but there is no better hotel in Mendoza.

It's a lovely hotel, but they have a not so lovely practice of converting the dollar-based room rate at a higher exchange rate than the interbank rate (about 5% higher), then charging that amount back to foreign credit cards in pesos. It ends up making your room rate about 5% more expensive in dollars than was quoted when you book.

I'm not usually picky about small fees and such at hotels, but this is clearly not an honest practice, and the hotel defended it as standard practice when I've never seen this anywhere else in my 15 years traveling to Argentina. Hope it changes.

The Park Hyatt in Mendoza exceeded all expectations! Every single staff member was friendly, professional and available to help with anything needed. And always with a smile. The service was exceptional! Jessica and Sebastian at the concierge desk were extremely helpful in understanding our preferences and booking amazing excursions to the wine regions, wine paring lunches, and even an unforgettable sunset horseback ride in the foothills of the Andes. And much more! Jacob at the front desk greeted us with open arms and every person at the front desk was amazing and spoke English to accommodate our weak Spanish. Every meal-- breakfast, dinner or poolside was delicious, promptly served and always served with a smile. The nice sized rooms also exceeded our expectations with spacious bathrooms and rooms were very clean! Water was replenished everyday and anything forgotten or needed was sent up to our room with no hassle. There is no reason to stay anywhere else but The Park Hyatt if visiting Mendoza.

Staff were friendly but many front of house staff couldn't speak English which is not what one expects from an international hotel change. The breakfasts were poor quality and our room had several faults - a leaking sink, a shower that didn't drain correctly and a bathroom where the sound of the toilet flushing upstairs was terrible. Finally the hotel gym was open to non-hotel guests, it is not acceptable to go to a gym and be unable to use treadmills as they were fully occupied by local people.I would not stay in this particular Park Hyatt again.
