This was a lovely old house a twenty minute walk from the town centre. We had the master suite which was huge with a large bathroom and shower. A lovely place to sit but insect repellent necessary. Even though we never saw much of the flying variety, you are surrounded by trees and a very slow moving river at the bottom of the garden. There is a lovely swimming pool as well. However, it was warm and we did need the aircon on during the night. Though this runs fairly quietly, at intervals there was very strange bangings and squeakings coming from the unit. We also did not appreciate the two visiting cockroaches. I suppose that this is to be expected in an old house. The breakfast was a good continental mix of croissants and cakes. Quite delicious. Coffee ++ as required. We found our host very accommodating but not very chatty. We went out for an evening meal but were very disappointed to find few places open. We used Trip Advisor's recommendations to roy and find somewhere but they were nearly all shut. We ended up in a friendly place, the only diners and badly cooked food!…
The hotel was about a 15 minute walk from the railway station. There is a bus but I enjoyed the walk with my little weekend case on wheels past houses and beside the beautiful park by the water till came to the front gate and rang the bell. The hotel has a casual air. It is clean, reasonably priced and the owner is very obliging. My room overlooked the front garden and the quiet street..I slept in a wonderfully comfortable bed after my day on the delta and an evening music concert at the museum,The bathroom was a few steps away but outside my room. There were two rooms with an ensuite, I think. Next day I walked in sunshine to the beautiful Art Gallery, housing old and modern art, built in nineteenth century French style on the foreshore of the main arm of the delta. On my return I was greeted by Milo the grey puppy and collected my case held in safe-keeping with the owner,…
Very good for a hostel, not so hot for a hotel. Great location for exploring BA without the hassle AND the Parana delta, very friendly surfer-style staff, very good breakfast, pleasant pool (remember your repellent!). Probably more suited to the backpacker set, more precisely of the trust-fund rebel variety, than to the older couple (if so, take the "suite" with the terrasse on the canal!). Quite popular with Porteños, which is a plus. Tigre fantastic for all kinds of tourism.
My husband and I stayed at the Hostal Aguas Mansas during our visit to Argentina. We had the privilege of being one of the 10 first gests of this beautiful house. Truly outstanding service, we loved it. It has all the comfort of a new hotel, good linens toilets and beds apart from a complete breakfast (included on the price). The room was a good size, spotlessly clean and with a balcony overlooking the river, a great place to wake up and look out on in a morning. The staff was incredibly nice and friendly, Maxi, one of its owners provided us with all the necessary information for out trip around Buenos Aires and Tigre (a picturesque villa on the surroundings of Buenos Aires nearby the Rio de la Plata). I would definitely return if I had the chance to!
