Hostel Suites Obelisco is very well located, in the city of Buenos Aires, near many attractions. Although, the building is very high, with many rooms, and I didn't find them cozy, and neither very clean. The room where I was had a drip of water from the ceiling. At least, the reception service is good.

Background: During an overnight layover in BA en route to Ushuaia to join a 10-day cruise to Antarctica, I stayed at this hostel along Ave Corrientes. (Btw, take note that, down the same street, there's another accommodation with a similar name: Hotel Ibis Suites Obelisco. That one is a hotel, while this one is a hostel. Big difference.) I stayed here for 3 nights. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are pretty big and clean with lockers to store your belongings. The breakfast is really good. The wifi is only available in the common areas. The hostel is in a great location, there are restaurants and cafes close by including some of the historical monuments.

I have stayed at the Hostel Suite Obelisco several times and I am always pleased. It is really close to metro stations, restaurants, parks and historical monuments. Breakfast is great. it's an older building with a cool old elevator and several floors of rooms

Some of the people behind the counter were not really busy with their job (they seemed a bit drugged in my opinion). The rooms do not have airconditioning, which makes sleeping a horror at night and during the day. The room and bathroom are clean. Negative point : no wifi in the rooms Positive point : a big enough common... More

Hi, Thanks a lot for your comment. I think it's a very serious thing and to some point disrespectful thing to say that our staff seemed to be drugged. We support our workers which sometimes have very intense working hours. I would ask you to please measure your words next time. Regarding the wifi and AC, we don't have wifi... More

I'm not sure I would recommend this hostel. It was our first stop in Argentina and not the best memory. The room in itself was fine, clean and spacious, but it was very very very loud: the hostel is located on the "Broadway" street of Buenos Aires so all night long we could hear people screaming in the streets and... The rooms are on the other floors that the reception and the comon room. So it's peacefull and possible to sleep. The staff is kind. The rules are normal - not redicoulus as in the Suites Florida. The location is great, of course (Obelisc).

Pretty basic. Nice community/lounge area with lots of tables, couches, and a TV. The owner made a huge batch of popcorn to have during the futbol game on our first night there. The wifi only works in the main area, not in the rooms. The breakfast is the same every day, milk, cereal, juice, rolls, and either a fruit. Buy... More

Two words: BED BUGS! Apparently the management knows about it but they refuse to do something to fix the problem; the staff is instructed to lie about it, too. Location is central and good if you're into touristy stuff, but I'd highly advise you to look for another place that's less ugly and not inhabited by BED BUGS!

Staying in San Nicolas

Neighborhood Profile
San Nicolas
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theater lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. During the day, Corrientes is known for its many bookshops and classic cafés, which are located just minutes away from some famous landmarks, like the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the Teatro Colon.
