I stayed at this hotel in 2011 when it was called Axel. Things have changed significantly. It is now falling apart and very shabby. We spent one night here in transit and made the horrendous mistake of leaving our luggage in storage with them. When we returned two weeks later to spend two more nights in B.A., we were told that the luggage had been stolen at gun point. As you can imagine, this was devastating. I immediately suspected that the hotel staff had simply created the story and had stolen our luggage themselves. The hotel did nothing to improve our stay; no upgrade, no refund, no reimbursement for my belongings. The manager brought me to the police station to file a report and told me he would contact me when he heard from the insurance company. It has been three weeks and I have heard nothing, despite sending them repeated emails. This only goes to strengthen my suspicions. Beware of this hotel. The staff told me they had been robbed multiple times. If that is true, it is not secure and you should look elsewhere or keep your belongings with you at all times. Shame on me for trusting a hotel.…
The hotel was very nicely designed. The rooms are big, the bed very large and extremely comfortable! The price is extremely competitive for the the quality. Some maintenance would be needed as it would be a shame to see the hotel deteriorate. Swimming pool indoor and outdoor available. Very friendly and helpful staff at the 24h reception. Wifi all around though weak in the room.
Good location, great friendly staff. Beds where a bit hard for our liking, woke up every morning with a sore back. Only one pillow per person, paper thin. Room cleaned every day. If breakfast is not included in price don't pay, not worth it.! $15 US dollars per person for pretty much scrambled eggs.. But good scrambled eggs. Not $15 worth though.. A little out dated but if you are looking for cheap accommodation with helpful staff this is the place.
All the basics are there. The room and the hotel have been once part of the trendy Axel hotel. The management has probably choosen not to invest in this hotel. This is a pitty. The staff is very friendly. The hotel is offering a lot of fascilities, but there should be additional investments. The room rate was very low. Would be very much willing to pay more for this hotel when its updated. Nice swimming pool (inside and outside). Skip the breakfast, this is very basic. Also here, increase your rate a bit for breakfast and offer a better buffet.
Stayed in this hotel when it was the Axel hotel and it was perfect, new, modern, quirky, good food location is great and staff were so nice and helpful. Shame that only some of this is still true. Not as nice as it used to be inside, although location (obviously!) is as good and the staff are still as helpful! I hope some money gets invested to fix and maintain the number of superficial things that are now letting this hotel down - shame.
The artist who designed the rooms probably never used a hotel before, as nothing about it is practical. Probably modern, and probably artistic, but not useful. The two persons at the desk and the technical staff were friendly, helpful and polite. Thank you. It is obvious that this hotel have seen better days, and that there is no maintenance budget, but it was reasonably priced and very close to where I had to be every day, so I will come back next time.
Hotel is well located near the city center. The staff has no problem with the English language (which in Argentina is not obvious) and willing to help and advise. Afternoons relaxing by the pool with a glass bottom on the fifth floor were wonderful & we had a sauna for ourselves!
I stayed there in 2011 ( or 10, can't remember ) and again lately Not much has changed as the ambiance is still fine Rooms have always been on the small side but it is ok Spa and swimming pool are nice Breakfast is good Overall a nice place but don't expect any luxury although everything is run nicely and smoothly
Stay away from this hotel. It is absolut run down. The Front Office staff is very impolite and could learn something about guest services. The breakfast, I would not served this to anyone, absolut awful. Room: Run down and dirty. Traning & Spa Area: Dirty & run down and should be closed.
Great Location. Walking distance to Puerto Madero (restaurants) and San Telmo (antique shops) Neighborhoods, although a bit far from Recoleta and Palermo. Hotel a little run down, but clean. Breakfast is not worth paying for, better run to any of the many cafes close to the hotel. Staff extremely friendly. Carolina at the front desk went out of her way and made great recommendations for dinner.
