I have returned to Back in BA a few times since the staff is truly wonderful. I saw reviews of complaints of noise but I never had such a problem. In any event, it is a hostel and not a hotel so expectations should be appropriate. It is well located, clean, and comfortable.

The cheapest place we stayed at in Buenos Aires out of about 5 different places? Sure. Best value for money? Surely not. The double rooms are probably OK but save yourself from that ground floor dorm if you can - it was cold (May 2016) and dirty. The complimentary breakfast scraped by. Wifi was OK in the main upstairs communal... More

I originally had a different hostel to stay at, and I arrived to find out it was closed! I was stuck in Buenos Aires with nowhere to stay without a previous booking. Finally Back in BA said they had a room and helped me with directions there. The bed was paid by the day, which was great. The room and... More

Overall had a terrible time at back in BA... we felt the need to move hostels. Stayed 3 nights, first night was very noisey then ironically the next night we were told to be quiet in the communal area as guests near by were flying out that morning. We soon learned the guests were not even in their room. Found... More

Located in a good location in Palermo. Staff are friendly, speak very good English and helpful to organise tours and things to do. The rooms are standard and functional. We had a private room with bathroom which had a ceiling fan but needed AC as BA is hot and humid in summer and sleeping at night was a little uncomfortable.

Honestly for the price paid it is pretty good considering the good location in Palermo. Also the staff are very friendly and helpful so that is a plus. The dorms are not bad either as far as dorms go. However since they do not have air conditioning in the the the dorms I strongly recommend not going in hot weather... More

I stayed in room 8 (double private) and while I was out at night one of the workers used the key to get in my room and steal all the money from my bag. There were two guys working that night, one from Haiti and the other was kind've Arabic/Hispanic. I know I locked the door and you have to... More

This is a vicious and unfounded accusation. I responded several times to this guest's enquiries, checked camera footage, spoke to other guests and staff, and found no evidence of this supposed theft. I cannot be sure that he didn't lose his money, but I have no evidence that something happened in this hostel, and therefore find it offensive in the... More

We spent more than a week in Back in BA and had a great time. The hostel is situated in Palermo, a nice neighborhood with a lot of bars, restaurants and possibilities to go out. When the hostel is full and on weekend, it could be noisy but it's a good opportunity to meet new people. The breakfast is good, with... More

I hate to write a bad review because back in BA was great but one thing really got me! One man on the front desk sick. Coughing & sneezing constantly, the most horrendous noises coming from his mouth, without the courtesy of covering his mouth!! I wasn't going to write this but now I am terribly sick & no doubt... Thank you so much for your lovely review! Happy guests make us happy. Sorry, though about the coughing member of staff. He´s no longer with us... not in that way.. he´s just moved on. So apart from seasonal colds, we´re all in great shape!! Hope to see you again More

Back in BA is one of my favorite hostels we have stayed in during our travels across South America. It is not the most modern hostel but it has a well-worn, relaxed vibe. The atmosphere is great and the staff are very pleasant and helpful! The desk is open 24-hours a day so you can come and go as you... More

Staying in Palermo

Neighborhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favorite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
