I had reserved in this charming hotel a one night stay for our last day in Argentina before our return to Europa . We had a beautiful room with a great balcony with scenic view on the park . The house is beautifully decorated and the staff is great . You feel as if you are home . It is quiet and unique noises are those of the birds and animals Can only recommend

Wonderful stately mansion in a large gated community about 28kms ( 30 minutes) drive to EZE airport. Grounds and building were amazing. The day time manager was exceptionally helpful. Horse riding was easily arranged. The evening meal was satisfactory and quite expensive. We found the premises difficult to locate.

Villa Maria is stunning, set in 1,500 hectares of beautiful land, just an hour from the centre of Buenos Aires but feels like it could be in the heart of the pampas. The grounds are beautiful, with the main building providing the focal point, with rooms, restaurant with dining areas inside and out, a games room and other spots to sit and relax. Surrounding the house are the swimming pool, lake and endless spots to sit and enjoy the sunshine or shade of the enormous trees. There's also a decent 18 hole golf course and opportunities for massages and horse riding. Just a couple of buts, to qualify my praise. The service is fairly slow and you sometimes end up ordering a drink or dish several times before it gets through. Staff are all very friendly but not particularly present; they seem to come and go so you can wait around, for example at reception. The showers are only intermittently warm too. Overall it's absolutely charming, but don't come with European or North American expectations in terms of absolute perfection; rather, embrace it for its imperfections!

Buenos Aires is a wonderful city but it's good to get out and see the country side. EVM has a great setting with beautiful grounds and a combination of open and wooded areas. The inside of the main house is as grand as the outside. Lots of dark wood and big, comfy furniture. We opted for the one suite that had air-conditioning and it proved to be a good decision as it was over 90 degrees outside. If you expect hot weather I suggest you spring for the master suite. We took the free carriage ride and got a good orientation of the grounds. We also arranged for a gaucho show that was a real treat. We were the only ones there to watch so we paid for the whole thing but for $150 it was well worth it. The food was very good but keep in mind there are no viable options for the three daily meals. You're a long ways from the nearest restaurants but we had no complaints. And meals were included in the room price. I can't compare EVM with other estancias but it's hard to imagine a better experience. I highly recommend EVM

The house and grounds are beautiful but the rooms are not deserving of a five star hotel. The shower is antiquated and the water pressure is terrible. There is no air conditioning so don't visit in the middle of summer. Staff are not very friendly and our stay was like walking around in a mausoleum. We were asked to fill out a card with our details including passport numbers and this was left on a desk in a public area. It was still there when we checked out and we were not happy for our personal information to be left for anyone to see. The safe in our room didn't work. Our television had no signal so couldn't work. Breakfast was very basic for a hotel marketed as high end. The rooms are clean and we paid extra to have dinner there as there is nothing much nearby. Dinner was very nice. Overall though, it was a disappointing stay.
