We stayed here twice in quick succession, just before and after visiting El Calafate in southern Argentina. In general, this was a good deal for a very central hotel - on the first occasion our stay did not include breakfast and on the second, it did (no reason - just the availability of rooms/tariffs). As noted elsewhere, the breakfast is... More

Reading mixed reviews, we were not sure what to expect. Arrived in the evening and met by the lovely Anna in reception. Our room on the 3rd floor at the end of the corridor was very quiet we couldn't hear any road noise or other guests. Large rooms, not modern, but comfortable. Excellent location, only a few minutes to the... More

The hotel was choosen by our travel agency to spend tree nights in Buenos Aires during our tour in South America. The room carpet was not vacuumed at all after the previous customer. There were lots of spots on the carpet and on the chair. The textiles are worn out. None of us could handle the safetybox as there were... More

The hotel definitely left several things to be desirable, but given the location, the price was a very good value. The rooms were certainly a little dated, but the bathroom was quite nice. Breakfast included pastries, eggs, sausages, and plenty of juices, which was nice. Wifi worked well on the first day, but not so great on the second. Nonetheless,... More

I was dreading staying at this hotel, because of a good number of not so good reviews. I didn't have a choice because I was with a group. I had room 112 and maybe I was lucky. The carpet and curtains have seen better days, but I had a flat screen tv and most important, the bathroom was very clean,... More

Stayed with a friend here for 2 nights in October. We're disappointed when we arrived to find our room smelled like cigarettes, the decor shabby/worn, and our so valued wifi access was virtually impossible to locate with cell phones and tablet. The front desk staff were indifferent about most of our inquiries and not particularly helpful in making suggestions about... More

I stayed at this hotel with 4 students for five days in October. The rooms were clean and comfortable, although a bit cold. There was hot water in the bathrooms though, so this helped on cold nights! The rooms could also do with a bit more lighting, especially overhead lighting. Although this hotel is located downtown, it is very quiet,... More

First: there is no way this is a 4 star hotel...it should be considered a bad hostel. Customer service is bad, breakfast is bad (bakery is not fresh), carpet in the hallways is old and dirty, the rooms are dark and smelly, bathrooms are really old, towels are also very old not even look white anymore. WIFI is extremely bad!... More

AWFUL service, horrible place, old and smelly carpet, so far the worst hotel I have ever been, It was so bad that I changed hotel after 2 nights because I could not stay here any longer. The street is closed because the city is working to fix the street hence no car or taxi can come to the door and... More

The hotel was much than you could ask for at the rates. The location was just removed from the main street. It was walking distance from almost everything. The staff was great help for recommendations. You have to go on the shopping tour.

Staying in San Nicolas

Neighborhood Profile
San Nicolas
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theater lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. During the day, Corrientes is known for its many bookshops and classic cafés, which are located just minutes away from some famous landmarks, like the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the Teatro Colon.
