If you are thinking of a romantic dinner with your beloved with excellent food and service in the most exclusive secret garden in the middle of Recoleta Buenos Aires then this is the place to go. Silvana’s service was out of this world. The ambience is one of a kind. The service was spotless from start to finish. The sommelier was incredibly knowledgeable and we discovered this amazing Malbec desert wine called Malamado. Another one of pearls discovered during our unforgettable dinner here. Highly recommended in every way.

On occasion when traveling you experience a declined credit card because of fraud concerns. However, at this hotel I experienced a claim that every card I gave them 3 in total from 3 different carriers were all declined. The banks denied these claims stating the hotel made no attempt to charge the cards. This created a lot of unnecessary stress and wasted time when we were celebrating a birthday which was also not acknowledged though stated on dinner and hotel reservations. At checkout, working with a different hotel rep miraculously the card worked fine after being told they could not accept it the day before. Also we used the same card in the hotel restaurant as a test the same day the front desk said it could not be accepted.

We (my adult daughter and I) stayed at the Park Hyatt on three separate occasions in August 2023 for a total of six nights. While the hotel is well located and well appointed we felt it came up short given the price point. The configuration of the hotel is a little strange. There are two separate entrances on opposite sides of the block in which the hotel is located. And there are separate check in counters at each end. One end is the historic building you see in all the photos. The other end is a more modern structure, which you don't see. Every time we were brought to the hotel it was to the modern end, which is actually not the official address of the hotel. If you put the hotel name into Google Maps, it would direct you to the other end. I guess it was good that we were brought to the modern entrance as that was where our room was located each time. (I wondered whether you would get a room in the historic building if you arrived at that end. If not, it would be somewhat difficult to get from that end to the modern entrance as it involves going through a subterranean passage with a fair number of stairs.) The arrival process was usually relatively smooth, though the porters were not always around. So, we often had to carry our own luggage up the stairs. There was also occasionally a wait at the checkin counter. These weren't extreme hardships, but weren't appropriate for a hotel at this price point. (On this same trip we stayed at a Belmond property in Lima, Peru at the same price point and that hotel was just in a completely different (and substantially higher) league in terms of performance in these aspects. ) The rooms are well finished but definitely showing their age. The first room we stayed in had a number of issues. First, the safe didn't work. (We don't normally care that much about safes but when traveling to Argentina, you need to have a lot of cash.). We immediately brought this to the attention of the staff. They confirmed that it was not functional and said they would have it fixed right away but never did. We also found the air conditioning unit to be oppressively loud, to the extent that it would wake us up when it would cycle on and off in the night. We also brought this to the attention of the staff. They said they would look into it. Whether they did or not, I don't know. It never improved. But the other rooms we stayed in on our subsequent visits had the same issue. So, it's just outdated equipment. The room we stayed in on our final visit also had some serious staining on the bathroom counter (see photo). Again, nothing outrageous just a lack of attention to detail that is not appropriate for a property at this price point. The restaurant was the strong suit of the property. The breakfast was excellent, with a lot of vegan options! The staff were super attentive. And for lunch and dinner, the restaurant becomes a fully vegan restaurant, which was great!…

The hotel is nice but the rooms needs refurbishing, decoration could be much better (we had a big twisted red metal band on our wall, supposed to be the decoration) The breakfast is fine with fresh bakery and good products. The bar was a disaster: only one barman for 20 customers, no waiters, we stayed 30 min at a table that still had the dirts of the previous customer, there is a strong habana smell. After 30 min we left with the idea not to come back. Valet parking service is a plus that is appreciated.
