We stayed at Lina' Guesthouse for 5 days when we first arrived in Buenos Aires and returned "home" a month later, only for 1 night though. Lina is really a good and thoughtful hostess. She has thought of everything a foreign tourist needs to know, she has local maps and she has of course a tarjeta-card, SUBE, (like Oyster-card) that... More

As every year I have been in Lina's, as every it has been great. Nice rooms, wonderful patio, familiar atmosphere, nice people. The charming patio is a nice place to get to know fellow travelers. Lina is also a good resource for information about tango events.

Just a perfect place for your stay in Buenos Aires. Located in San Telmo, very close to public transportat stops and also walking distance to many attractions. The place itself is very clean, quiet, very well maintained. Lina and her daughter Alejandra are perfect hosts, attentive and ready to help with anything to make your stay enjoyable. From a list... We loved our stay at lina's. We arrived early, but we could go to our room right away. Rooms are clean and nice. Breakfast all you need. We could even use lina's card to use public transport, which made it easy and cheap to travel around. Good stay. We would recommend it for sure. Sven and Jolien

We had a perfect stay at Lina's Tango Guesthouse. Lina is a very good hostess and the location and facilities are perfect. She gave us all sorts of tips on our city trips and busses to take. The San Telmo district is very pleasant and central in the city.

We don't know where to start... We loved Lina's Tango Guesthouse!! Our room was clean and the ensuite bathroom was great. Breakfast in the morning was lovely and really set us up for the day ahead, we LOVED the media-lunas, they were utterly delicious. Although it was wintertime in B.A. we felt a warmth in Lina´s Guesthouse that made us wish to come back in summer. The breakfast was lovely and always accompanied by an interesting chat with Lina. She has a lot to recommend about Tango and other cultural events. We loved this cosy space in wonderful San Telmo!

Located in a quiet inner yard in the colorful San Telmo area. The room is small but sweet, while bathroom could use a little work (the shower was leaking). But Lina is absolutely great and made the stay very comfortable and enjoyable. I also very much appreciated the open air breakfast in the morning. Loved it, would go again.

Staying in San Telmo

Neighborhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are located in Buenos Aires, in the historical neighbourhood of San Telmo which is near the Obelisk, Plaza de Mayo, Congress Square, Puerto Madero and the popular street 'Caminito" in La Boca. Lina's Tango Guest House is of "Casa Chorizo" architecture which is typical of San Telmo and Palermo at the end of the 18th Century. The rooms are arranged one after the other, connected by a door and down was the bathroom and the kitchen. As the sausages are tied. Each space or room could convert sleeping room, living or eating room, according to the necesiddes of each family. Around the colourful patio, which is filled with plants and memorabilia, there are four unique rooms. Here on the patio, the guests have the opportunity to meet, relax and enjoy new friendships. Hospitality is most important to us. We love to share the culture of Buenos Aires and especially the Tango. ... more   less

“Small, but just enough space. No TV, but in my case never even noticed that it wasn't there. There is a heater in the room. which was a savior for the first couple of nights before I got used to the temperatures outside. There is a kitchen where guests can cook or make tea or coffee (tea, coffee salt, sugar and spices are in stock). ”
