Lina's is like a hostel for grown-ups: simple, private rooms and a charming communal space to meet others. With its location in San Telmo, you can easily walk to sidewalk restaurants and fun bars. In fact, the best steak we had in bA was just a few steps away at a neighborhood restaurant. Plaza Dorrego and the San Telmo market...

Staying at Lina's is like joining a family. Situated in the heart of the Tango Barrio (San Telmo), Lina's Tango Guesthouse is a place where Tango dancers from all over the world can meet, share experiences and experience dancing in this magical city. Lina's place is small and private with 6 rooms available. There is a beautiful courtyard which provides...

I did stay at Lina's for one month and loved it. She is very nice and help full since several times I had questions or needed help and she was there for me. The location in "San Telmo" is very convenient. The Metro is only a few blocks away and besides the taxis are very cheap, Since I'm a tango...

Lina's is absolutely fantastic!! Alejandra is a great host and the atmosphere is amazing! This is the nicest place I have ever stayed. With only 5 rooms and breakfast around a communal table in the courtyard it makes for a very social and enjoyable experience.

We stayed at Lina' Guesthouse for 5 days when we first arrived in Buenos Aires and returned "home" a month later, only for 1 night though. Lina is really a good and thoughtful hostess. She has thought of everything a foreign tourist needs to know, she has local maps and she has of course a tarjeta-card, SUBE, (like Oyster-card) that...

Just a perfect place for your stay in Buenos Aires. Located in San Telmo, very close to public transportat stops and also walking distance to many attractions. The place itself is very clean, quiet, very well maintained. Lina and her daughter Alejandra are perfect hosts, attentive and ready to help with anything to make your stay enjoyable. From a list...

Staying in San Telmo

Neighborhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are located in Buenos Aires, in the historical neighbourhood of San Telmo which is near the Obelisk, Plaza de Mayo, Congress Square, Puerto Madero and the popular street 'Caminito" in La Boca. Lina's Tango Guest House is of "Casa Chorizo" architecture which is typical of San Telmo and Palermo at the end of the 18th Century. The rooms are arranged one after the other, connected by a door and down was the bathroom and the kitchen. As the sausages are tied. Each space or room could convert sleeping room, living or eating room, according to the necesiddes of each family. Around the colourful patio, which is filled with plants and memorabilia, there are four unique rooms. Here on the patio, the guests have the opportunity to meet, relax and enjoy new friendships. Hospitality is most important to us. We love to share the culture of Buenos Aires and especially the Tango. ... more   less

“All the rooms are well equipped and depending on your budget have attached bathrooms and their own refrigerators. Most importantly, the rooms are dark and quiet (for the tango dancer to sleep in after a night at the milongas). They are mostly air conditioned and all have ceiling fans.”

“Small, but just enough space. No TV, but in my case never even noticed that it wasn't there. There is a heater in the room. which was a savior for the first couple of nights before I got used to the temperatures outside. There is a kitchen where guests can cook or make tea or coffee (tea, coffee salt, sugar and spices are in stock). ”
