A perfect place to stay if you are wanting to explore BsAs easy to get to and from as well as easy to visit other districts by foot, bus or Subte. San Telmo has a lot to offer as well. The ecological reserve at the foot of the hill is a nice little escape into the natural scenery of BsAs. Good food and markets all around. Easy walking to Av. Corrientes and Florida. The Sunday market on Defensa is always excellent. I manage to buy all my gifts for family and friends from there. Top quality, interesting and very Argentine! This time I attended a week of yoga classes as well as all the natural food stores and vegetarian/vegan markets. The best part of all...is the owner Lina! [oops....just noticed that I gave a one star review about this beautiful little spot a few years ago...should have been 5 stars] Read less…
I am so glad I stayed in San Telmo. Lots of local life. And specifically I’m glad I stayed with Lina and Francisco. They were helpful with logistics in advance and had my room ready when I arrived. I stayed in a single at the top of the circular staircase and it had a little balcony overlooking the beautiful courtyard. Lina invited me to a milongo with her and friends-I was to tired from my flight but I should have gone. Breakfast is simple-coffee, croissant, fruit juice and one morning eggs. One morning we sat and chatted for about an hour. It’s right by the San Telmo Mercado so great for lunch, and a short walk to plaza Mayor and plaza Doreggo. The outside is bland and modern but don’t worry-you enter a wonderful old courtyard. I would definitely stay there again. A real find at a great price. I should have taken a tango lesson!…
Nice guesthouse in San Telmo, Buenos Aires with a charming host. The patio is really nice and quiet but Lina organized a party with some friends and guests on our first night there... but we were really tired after our 14 hours flight from Paris, so we could not relax very well. I recommend the guesthouse mainly for solo traveller.
Lina’s Tango Guesthouse is just wonderful. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Lina and Francisco are so warm and welcoming. We felt completely at home. Next time we will book an even longer trip and stay at Lina’s again.
Lenas' is quirky, clean, and hot showers, perfect! She and Fransisco are great hosts. Lots of restaurants , a big market, and an outdoor milonga in walking distance . Cabs are frequent and reasonable. We'll be staying here when we return.
When I come to Buenos Aires Lina’s is the only place that I would ever think of staying. Her ability to make you feel like you are home is the reason that she always gets five stars. From her delicious Asados to her engaging chats at breakfast, you feel like you are more than a guest in a casa The neighbourhood of San Telmo has everything you need close by. Pista Urbana has live music almost every night of the week. El Refuerzo is the best restaurant in the whole city. At The Mercado you can get anything your heart desires and also the best coffee at Chantals ...all of these things are only a few steps away. Sunday you can walk a few blocks to the famous market when the street comes alive with all sorts of antiques and crafts. Go see EL Indio perform his incredible tango show at Plaza Dereggo and hang around at night when all the locals come to dance tango. Lina’s and this whole neighbourhood is pure magic.…
We really enjoyed our stay at Lina's tango hotel. It is conveniently located in San Telmo with easy proximity to the market and the metro, affordable cab ride to other neighborhoods. Charming courtyard and proprieter. Lina and Francisco were so welcoming! We joined them for a concert (indie rock) - Lina's son was playing and they hosted an asado. We couldn't make the asado, but joined for wine and conversation after. This hotel offers a great atmosphere for anyone interested in a sociable environment.
I loved the place, and even more the host. She did all she could to help me and offered great advice about places to visit and things to see and do. I slept like a baby every night since it’s so quite.
We enjoyed our stay even in Bs Aires winter. A little cold in room when arrive was helped by using high temp on well functioning a/c. Clean room with good bathroom - hot water. Small italian- style breakfast. Wifi well functioning. Centrall located in San Telmo. 10 min walk down Bolivar to 25th Mayo Plaza and 15 min to Obelisc on 9th July Av. The metro is 3 min walk. Bus 29 to La Boca 3-4 min. Francisco and his staff took good care of us and helped us on many practical things. We recommend this charming home in San Telmo.
Lina has welcomed us and gave us many tips for our stay. The room was nice and tidy. Breakfast was served on the terrace outside, which was very nice and felt like home. We were allowed to use kitchen and the terrace as well. The location was near to the center and there where many bars and restaurants nearby. All in all we felt very welcome at Lina’s.
