Lina is an amazing hostess: engaged, welcoming, and thoughtful. She went far out of her way to take care of me. As a solo, non-Spanish speaking traveler, I felt completely safe at her guesthouse, night and day. The staff are friendly, genuine, and interested as well. There is a small kitchen provided for guest use complete with a stove, a... More

Lina's was the perfect place to stay in Buenos Aires. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, and every aspect was so cute. The staff are super friendly and helpful and the location can't be beat - right in the heart of San Telmo and near the market, many restaurants, and lots of museums. A subte station is nearby... This was my first stop on my travels and I'm glad I got to stay here. I had a private room with an ensuite, it was very clean, comfortable bed, heating and air conditioning. It was fairly quiet when I went, which I didn't mind. There's a cute courtyard area too. The location is quite ideal near plenty of restaurants... More

This place was perfect. Perfectly safe and a great location. San Telmo was our favorite area! Lina made us feel at home and had great suggestions. The restaurant next door was amazing, just ask Lina about it. We can't wait to come back and stay with Lina once again :)

Really sweet guesthouse in character-filled San Telmo close to many restaurants. Linda was very helpful. Only negatives were the lack of shower pressure and the breakfast was inconsistent in what was provided

Staying in San Telmo

Neighborhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are located in Buenos Aires, in the historical neighbourhood of San Telmo which is near the Obelisk, Plaza de Mayo, Congress Square, Puerto Madero and the popular street 'Caminito" in La Boca. Lina's Tango Guest House is of "Casa Chorizo" architecture which is typical of San Telmo and Palermo at the end of the 18th Century. The rooms are arranged one after the other, connected by a door and down was the bathroom and the kitchen. As the sausages are tied. Each space or room could convert sleeping room, living or eating room, according to the necesiddes of each family. Around the colourful patio, which is filled with plants and memorabilia, there are four unique rooms. Here on the patio, the guests have the opportunity to meet, relax and enjoy new friendships. Hospitality is most important to us. We love to share the culture of Buenos Aires and especially the Tango. ... more   less
