Upon arrival my partner and I were given a twin share room dispite booking a King room. (This is a common occurance for the traveling LGBTI couple, equally as insulting as it is frustrating. But at the end of the day if I pay for something thats what I expect.) The room itself was dirty, and the non-smoking room seemed to have a constant stream of cigarette smoke comming through the air conditioning ducts. I had trouble sleeping due to the smoke and all my belongings stunk like cigarettes untill I could get to a laudromat to wash them all. I also had a horribly sore throat for the next week. Just gross. Staff were not overly helpfull to the point of reluctantly hading over the Wifi password and we couldn't find the so called breakfast in the morning.
Pros: Very clean hotel, good breakfast, next to a subway stop. Cons: Dirty, loud and busy neighbourhood, unhelpful staff, noisy location. Very modern, clean and in good condition for BA standards. We didn't speak great spanish and found the staff couldn't give us the time of day. Absolutely hated the direct neighbourhood its in. The streets were continually packed with street vendors selling crap and you couldn't even walk through them. People would just go to the toilet in front of you, we even got spat on. Did not feel safe going out at night by myself. However, if you like buying stuff and he hustle and bustle is your thing, then stay here! We got one of the front rooms over the Jujuy Av and it was ridiculously noisy. This place is very much no fuss, simple, basic chain hotel style. Half way through our stay we moved to a boutique hotel in San Nicolas, and it completely changed our view of BA. The place was the opposite - a charming old building, wonderful architecture, staff that went beyond and a beautiful, safe quiet neighbourhood - for only a litle bit extra $…
The hotel is generally very good. It is conveniently located right near a main subway station, making it easy to get to various places in the city. However, this made it a little noisy (earplugs worked fine). Overall, the room was quite small/modest, but this was in line with the cost so the value for money was great. There were a number of available tours/activities that could be booked through reception. The only problem is that all of them had to be paid in cash because charging them to the room and paying via credit card when checking out would cost an extra 10%. Also, the buffet breakfast options were somewhat limited (mostly pastries and cakes). Nevertheless, I had a great stay. The number one reason for this was the staff. They were INCREDIBLY friendly and helpful, even though not all spoke English. One in particular (I think his name was Maximilian) was very helpful in recommending activities while another did all he could to help us find a cab at 01:30 on New Years Eve. The service and friendliness is definitely the best part about the hotel!…
situated directly on line A of the subte metro, it is conveniently located for exploring the city. It is a bit loud as the hotel is directly on the crossing on 2 ain roads. But I found it good value for money. Good breakfast, free internet in the lobby and helpful staff.
It is 2 km from the main turist attractions, but with excellent public transportation options. The room and bed are fine and the personal treats you good. The drawbacks are: 1. Poor room cleaning and organizing. 2. Elevator stopped working for a week. 3. Breakfast is also poor: Bad coffee and very few options for eating. 4. Internet access was not available for more than a week. Conclusion: we paided US$ 38 for a double room. This is about the limit for what the htel gives, considering the other options.
