It's very basic but if you are like me and just want a cheap place to crash for a couple of nights it's fine :) Location is pretty good, supermarket very close by. The shower was hot surprisingly but took a while to heat up. The place in general was pretty dirty and messy, it felt like the floor in... More

Read great reviews about this place, I only stayed two nights myself and I'm kinda glad, the place had ZERO atmosphere and the room we were put in had a serious mold problem! There were also big holes in the window panes which meant the room was extremely cold at night (and most of the day) because of this I... More

Pretty good place to crash, very cheap but a bit loud if you are into sleeping... Look to stay on the floor above reception. Restrooms are a bit stinky, but showers are generally clean and have abundant hot water. Breakfast is served but there are many restaurants and stores in surrounding area that will satisfy most of your food needs.

I turned up at 3am after a late flight and they were very accommodating in finding me a bed. I stayed for 5 nights in total. All the staff are super friendly and made me feel welcome. The breakfast is nice and the kitchen is small, but well equipped. I would stay again for sure :)

We stayed at the Rock Hostel for two nights after switching from a really bad one. The atmosphere here is lively, mature, and full of good music and people. The showers were plentiful and clean. The kitchen was small but well equipped. If you have air con in your room you made need to ask to turn it on at... More

I arrived at the airport in Buenos Aires very late at 3 am in the morning, and very tired from the long flight. I wasn't able to make a reservation online because it would not let me, something to do with the way the site would not allow you to book online the same day you are scheduled to arrive,... More

Hello, We are sorry for you experience. Sometimes there are new people working the nightshift and they are not authorized to make reservations on the phone. That is why we have online reservations not only in our webpage but also hostelworld and booking.com I think that writing a review saying that we are the worst without even knowing the hostel... This hostel is in a great location, looking out over the main square and congress building in the centre of Buenos Aires, staff were good fun and made an effort to try and involve people in drinking/socialising etc. We stayed in an 8 bed dorm which was clean enough and not too cramped, everyone has a large personal locker in... The location is brilliant, close to everything. However, upon arrival we were shown no help, and received poor attitude from the receptionist. However, the facilities were all there but basic and the bathrooms in my opinion were filthy. The dorms are very cramped and the beds didn't feel safe at all. We lasted 1night and decided to find somewhere nicer.... More

Staying in Montserrat

Neighborhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighborhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
