The worst I’ve ever been treated by hotel staff in my entire life. The agency made a mistake and booked the wrong room. Instead of being patient and helping resolve the issue, the small angry man at the reception named Maximiliano Schiaffino pounded his fists on my door demanding that I leave the room every 10 min. Each time showing me another copy of the incorrect reservation (as if it was my fault lol). He slammed the door shut on me, lost his temper, and banged on the door several times. Hotel Arenales please hire people with patience without aggresive tendencies. Problems happen with bookings and this is not how the client should be treated. I was planning on staying over a week here but because of this incident I was forced to cancel early and leave. **Note: The hotel has no pool! The photo on goggle is incorrent, and the standard room is the size of a tiny closet.…
It is a clean hotel, but if you are visiting Buenos Aires I would not advice staying here for the following reason: - The most unfriendly, most of them doesn’t speak English - At least 30 minutes walking from every tourist places - You don’t really feel at home with the door always closed, BA is not a safe place - A useless balcony - A wifi connexion with no internet connexion - The noise of the lift and other rooms late at night’ There is much better choices in BA.
Small hotel in residential area, well within walking distance of Ricoleta and other sites. Staff very helpful - we used the hotel a base for our triple Calafate,Iguazu and other places and were allowed to keep excess luggage with them while away. Secured . Hotel very clean, breakfast ok,restaurant not worth mentioning. But plenty eraund
We arrived at the hotel by midday after a 14 hour flight and the receptionist straight away informed us that as the room was ready we could get it immediately - no need to ask or beg. The room was perfect for what we needed and in a great location. Big comfy bed and a powerful shower. Only negative is that the aircon wasn’t very efficient. Sadly we had to checkout before they started serving breakfast, but the cafe on site looked great if that’s any indication of what breakfast would be like.
I stayed two separated days in this hotel. The first day I got upgraded and second day I got the type I booked. But the room had completely no view even if it showed “City View”. I asked airport pick-up service through email a few days before but got no reply. I booked again at front desk during first day of stay but taxi finally didn’t show up. I had to call Uber by myself at 2:00 a.m.
The staff have been very helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfy. The hotel is on the same block as the Aguero station which allows for cheap travel througout the city (85 pesos for the travel card and 12.5 pesos per journey). Breakfast is served in the adjoining restaurant, and consists of an excellent continental style buffet breakfast. I would not hesitate to return here again.
Staff members were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast charming and fresh. But elevator doors have to be operated manually which results in a lot of noise. Rooms clean but lacking comfort as outlets are rare and not usable without adapters. Quality of TV picture miserable.
I would not called it a hotel, because it has almost no hotel service. It is a small building with some suites and rooms. Location is great. The larger suites are very comfortable and the rooms are similar to hotel ones. Breakfast is very simple, don’t expect much. My problem with this hotel was the staff. They never smile, they never say "welcome" or "please". I know that Argentinians are cranky and not as friendlier as the Brazilians, but it is a “hotel”, please give some training to your staff, at least teach them how to smile.
As a couple we seek out boutique style accommodation rather than well-known chain hotels. Hotel Arenales is a gem among boutique hotels, for a number of reasons. Our original plan was to stay for a week. We had a superior room, meaning a lovely, large and comfortable bed on one side, with a spacious living area or lounge opposite the bed. Here there was a full-size sofa plus armchair, side table, two coffee tables and a large desk-space with chair. The mini fridge was complemented by a Nespresso coffee machine for our use. The bathroom was large and the walk-in shower was much appreciated. On our first night, and I do mean, in the middle of the night, gastric illness struck. The concierge couldn’t have been more helpful. We both fell ill and over the next few days we were too ill to leave the room. The staff were most tactful and discreet. In all, if one has to feel too ill to go out then it helps to be in a comfortable space. Most of all, the concierge went to lengths to allow us to extend our stay with minimal fuss. We did have to change room but only for our last couple of nights. The hotel has a concierge on duty 24/7. All were friendly and helpful, but not overly-so. The location is handy to the metro, buses, Alto Palermo shopping mall and the finer streets of Recoleta. There were plenty of great places to eat within a short walking distance. Our room rate included continental breakfast daily in the cafe attached to the hotel. The wait staff in the cafe had us a little intimidated at first but we realized that it takes a little time for relations to warm up a bit. The single most frustrating aspect of the hotel stay is the weak/inconsistent WiFi, as mentioned by other reviewers. The best connectivity is in the cafe, or on the lower floors. We would stay in this hotel in future. We definitely recommend it to others. …
Excellent hotel for the price we paid. Stayed there 3 nights on NYE. Breakfast (good enough) and wifi included. Everything in the hotel looks brand new! We also got an upgrade to a larger room. Close to Aguero subte station.
