The location is good and it is easy to walk to the main sites and lots of bars and restaurants, but the hotel isn't the best. The layout of the public area is poor so the bar is the restaurant is in the reception so none of them work very well.

Excellent location is the main thing you pay for. In addition you get a pretty nice room, clean but well used. An OK breakfast. Access to s small pool for those very warm day. And what for me most important, a very warm and nice staff all over. Meaning you get value for your money.

On the positive front, the hotel's duty managers, waitresses, chambermaids and concierge were very efficient, extremely pleasant and polite people.By contrast however, the rest of the staff were curt to the point of rudeness. The hotel facilities were advertised as 4 star. Now, if by whatever star rating is being used here, 4 star means: Dirty carpets, Rooms smelling of...

I stayed at the Americas Towers for 10 days and felt most comfortable there. It's clean, friendly, reasonable, good restaurant, quiet and great location. I walked every where so this location was perfect. Surrounding sights, restaurants, shops and malls etc offered everything else I needed.

Americas Towers was the least expensive of 4 BA hotels I stayed in during 1.5 months of travel in Argentina. I stayed for 2 nights in a standard room. The location was very good, breakfast was fine, staff were polite, Wi-Fi was ok and the room was small but adequate. I thought the value was quite good.

We would rate this as a 4 star hotel. The room was fine, breakfast was OK rather than great. No tea/coffee facilities in the room - which we would have liked. Small supermarket over the road for water/ juice/ nibbles supplies.

Nice location, room clean and accommodating. Buffet good for the price of stay. Near a grocery store about 2 blocks away and some nice restaurants. Trade your dollars at nearby restaurant at corner, (forgot name), but they trade top dollars to Pesos and within close proximity to hotel. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is the night Housekeeper...

I stayed here as part of a tour of South America for 3 nights. It was OK but the breakfast was disappointing in terms of what was offered, the service and the serving area. It's served in the bar area and was over crowded. It wasn't helped by slow clearing of tables. The room & bathroom were fine with a...

The first impression of the hotel was marred by the very off hand of the front desk person. No interest in us as customers. The room was old, pillows very average and bathroom small. The breakfast was shocking especially after staying at other places in comparisons that we experienced travelling in Argentina & Uraguay. Location 10 minute walk to Opera...

The hotel is located in the ' centro ' of Buenos Aires, close to many little shops, in walking distance from the theatre district. Other from the location and a reasonable service, there is not much to recommend. The establishment is ill maintained and doesn't offer much. The walls of the room were stained, the bathroom was clean but weary, very...

Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
