Republica Hotel gives you small rooms, it's even hard to open your bags if you come with a couple, you pay for the wifi one device only, if you have an iPad and a cellphone too bad... big old Tv's in the rooms occupying a lot of space, tiny bathrooms, personal at reception gives you a lousy and uncomfortable treat...

Apart from the location, there´s nothing good to this hotel. Rooms were dirty (spiderweb with owner on the ceiling), reception personnel was rude, room service was not done until we asked around 5pm, and they charge you for using wifi in your room (a rate per day and per device). Make yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

First off my shower was broken when I arrived. The wifi connection that you have to pay for in the rooms was very poor, and lastly i asked for some washing to be done but the items did not return clean and I still incurred a massive cost even though I ended up hand washing all of my items. Over...

I called to inform the hotel my GF missed the coach to the capital. The hotel informed me I had to speak with the on line company to cancel my booking. The on line company said I had to speak to the hotel. Given the run around. The fact the hotel only had one person who spoke English and when...

The hotel is perfectly located, directly at the Obelisk, however it is also directly at the widest road. Noisy 24/7, hotel does not have soundproof windows. The feeling on the third floor was as I was sleeping by the open window. The room was very small, there was not enough place to store luggage of two people inside. Air condition...

Rooms are tinny. The price paid for the room does not include internet, you need to pay an extra. Really absurd not to include WIFI in the rooms with the fare paid, 4 starts hotel includes this sort of services.. I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff are really friendly. We turned up after picking up our BMW from the hotel, ready to start our 9 month tour of the Americas. They helped us with the language, eating out, etc. The rooms were very good excellent view over the Obelisk- bedding was clean and fresh and the toilets and showers...

This hotel really needs to be a three star. The rooms are very small. The bathroom only provided shampoo and soap. No hair dryer, No lotion, No hot water to make a cup of tea. The shower was so small my husband had a hard time turning around. The breakfast was mediocre. Even though it is a non smoking facility,...

This was the third time that I had brought a schoolboy rugby team to Buenos Aires, and again we stayed at the Republica. During three short stays at various points of our trip, I stayed on the 8th, 5th and 1st floors. I have always preferred the higher rooms, although it means putting up with the elevator wars that go...

Staying in San Nicolas

Neighborhood Profile
San Nicolas
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theater lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. During the day, Corrientes is known for its many bookshops and classic cafés, which are located just minutes away from some famous landmarks, like the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the Teatro Colon.
