We arrived after a 5 week cruise from Australia and was immediately impressed with the staff friendliness and the room cleanliness. It was a reasonably large room with light and airy atmosphere. The location was fairly central. The reception staff were able to organise a city tour and a Tango Show for us, as we were there only 2 nights....

We stayed for one night. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We could check-in earlier than we were supposed to. The room was very spacious the mattress, pillows and sheets were perfect. The bathroom was very comfortable. Everything was clean. Breakfast was good.

We arrived late and spent one night although we had paid for two nights. The hotel was so poorly maintained and dingy and the beds were rock hard, so at 7am before the second night, we complained at the front desk. The towels were so grey and scratchy that it looked like they were used to wash the floor. The...

Hotel feels a bit outdated, could definitely need a renovation. Our room felt very dark facing inwards and some of the appliances showed their age. There is free Wifi throughout the hotel and the breakfast buffet (cold cuts, croissants, etc.) is good, however would be great to also get some fruits. Overall good value for the location.

This hotel was fine. It was comfortable and in a pretty good location (though it is quite a walk from any metro station). The staff was helpful and professional. The strange thing, though, is that when we arrived at the hotel we booked online, they sent us about a block down the street to a different hotel. I don't know...

This old hotel shows its age and needs some repairs, but its location, price, comfortable mattresses, and generous breakfast keeps us returning. Within walking distance from Teatro Colon, the Obelisk, Resoleta cemetery, and the Museum of Fine Arts, not to mention good restaurants, the De Las Americas is a good choice in Buenos Aires.

We arrived here direct from 4 flights totalling over 20 hours. We had paid and booked up front with Expedia, and the hotel acknowledged this, but said that they did not have a room. We were sent to another hotel the Presidente, but the room we were offered was totally unsuitable. The wrangling continued, until at about midnight , the...

Nice hotel within reasonable walking distance of all the main attractions of Buenos Aires (and there were loads of taxis available for anyone not wanting to walk). The food was excellent and the restaurant staff very pleasant and friendly.

I had an amazing stay here. The staff was more than helpful! The rooms were clean and the beds were COMFY! This is not that common in hotels around the world. They had a hot water issue at the latter part of our stay but offered us to utilize another room next door- we declined and just dealt with it....

Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
