You can't beat the location downtown. Simply step outside and be on your way. The hotel was comfortable, the staff was helpful and the food was good. Mostly used other restaurants but the one here was fine for breakfast.
Great place with comfort.. All things are tidy and neat.. The stuff was great and make for us great and special resception i love the place and i will visit it more and more they know how they can make the client feeling happy
We went there as a group. There were around 20 of us but the hotel staff were very efficient. They helped us with our luggages and showed us where certain facilities are. The location was very convenient also, walking distance to quite a few interesting sites. I got upgraded to a suite, which was very clean and spacious. Breakfast is good, with many selections. There might be some newer luxurious hotels under the same chain but this one is worth the visit for its history.
We stayed there last November for 2 nights in a junior suite. The hotel is beautiful with great service and a very prime location. Breakfast was very good but not the best we had in Argentina (that was in the sister hotel in Bariloche) but it was very good. Unfortunately for us we were staying there on a Sunday and Monday night so their main restaurant was closed (we did find a great alternative called Rue however). In any case loved the hotel and look forward to returning.
We had booked into the Alvear Palace for 3 nights in BA at the end of our trip through South America. Unfortunately, this coincided with the start of the lockdown in Argentina and the unprecedented times we are currently in. We were picked up from the airport by the pre arranged and charming driver to take us to this ‘sanctuary’. Upon arrival we were told we could not stay there and we had to make alternative arrangements. No warning, no email and very little help. We had been in Chile and apparently they could not accept us! We later learnt that this was their policy and not a universal policy. Shocked and unsure what to do in this unfamiliar city, we asked if they’d at least let us sit and try to find accommodation. At no stage did they show any empathy to our situation nor really try to assist. This is not a cheap hotel and at least we feel happy now that they did not receive our hard earned money. Obviously, a little stirred by our worried demeanour, one member of staff suggested we go to the Hilton where they understood we would be accepted. We did go to the Hilton and the wonderful, helpful and caring staff all welcomed us and went on to assist us to make arrangements to leave Argentina. To add insult to injury, we were charged for the coffee and croissant we had whilst we were desperately trying to organise some accommodation and USD50 for our ride from the airport to their hotel!!! Nice!! When we return to Buenos Aires, we certainly will NOT be staying at this hotel.…
