We spent a February 1 night pre-cruise in an executive floor room. The room itself and the attentive staff would rate with hotels having higher star ratings and would be fine for short stays by non-sightseers. What disappointed my wife and I was, despite the location description on this website and on the hotel's website, was the hotel's location in...

I stayed her for a week in February. Pros: classy hotel, good service, happy hour for elite members with free wine beer and finger food, and in a relatively safe area during daytime. Cons: unsafe to walk around during the night; not too much of a night scene in the walkable area. Bathrooms are a little antiquated. Overall a good...

This hotel is very well located in the center of the city. The major sites are within easy walking distance. Shopping is close and there are many good restaurants nearby. We stayed in a club room which was spacious and comfortable. The hotel has several restaurants. The staff of the hotel is exceptionally helpful and nice.

The hotel is clean and well cared for. The concierges were very helpful. They found us a wonderful guide and steered us to great restaurants. The hotel's restaurants were also quite nice. There was a nice selection of items for breakfast, which was included in our reservation. It's a nice place to stay in a central location.

This hotel is about two blocks away from Buenos Aries' main thoroughfares, ave. de Mayo and ave. 9 de Julio, as such it is located near many restaurants and bars. The area is quiet during the evenings and weekends but the nearby intersection is busy during weekday. There is a bank ATM located a short distance away (less than a...

The hotel has good location near the main city area. The check in was superb. The rooms are spacious with iron Board and coffee kettle, which I always prefer. Being vegetarian, I had no problem as hotel staff was helpful. The service in breakfast room needs improvement .

We are IHG and Ambassador members so we have stayed in many Intercontinentals over the years and this may just be the best value of them all. Affordable rooms for a luxury hotel, great service, well appointed rooms (the renovated, more contemporary ones are nicer than the somewhat dated but still nice non-renovated ones, great views from the north looking...

Staying in Montserrat

Neighborhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighborhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
