During our most recent visit to Buenos Aires, my wife and I again stayed at Hotel Panamericano. The last time we stayed was in 2017 when it was running with a full staff and fully operational hotel. During our most recent stay in February 2020, the hotel was undergoing renovations. Despite that I found the staff to be very welcoming and helpful and the accommodations to be adequate. However, much of the hotel is closed off for renovations, including the lower level restaurant/breakfast area and some of the conference rooms. In addition, both of the rooms that we stayed in, room number 1528 for two nights and room 1427 for one night, while overall comfortable, need updating, particularly in their respective bathrooms. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the stay and appreciated the posted signs noting the renovations and apologizing for the inconveniences. I look forward to returning to the Panamericano after the renovations are complete and the hotel is restored to its world class elegance.

Like stepping back in time. Was once a grand hotel, but needs serious updating. The Marriott purchased it recently, so there was a lot of construction going on, a lot of noise during our stay. The breakfast choices were very generous. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Room was adequate with old furnishings and a cockroach in the bathroom. The restaurant food was good but service slow, even though there was only one other table of customers. The pool area at the rooftop needs updating also.

We stayed here one night before embarking on a cruise. From the moment we stepped in through the door until the moment we left we felt special. The door staff and reception staff are very efficient and welcoming and were helpful throughout our stay. The room was comfortable and the air in efficient - we were on the 17th floor and had a great view of the Theatro Colon. The shower was very good. The highlight of the hotel is the pool area on the 23rd floor. It has a fantastic view over the city and soft drinks and fruit are complimentary. We enjoyed spending an hour up here at sunset before going out. The breakfast was excellent - the choice was amazing and the room it is served in was an impressive banqueting type room. Overall we were extremely happy with this hotel and the staff helped us sort out a transfer that didn’t arrive as anticipated (not arranged through the hotel) - they were very concerned about the situation.

We stayed at the Panamericano 2x, before and after a trip to Patagonia. It’s an excellent location, literally a $4 USD cab ride away from pretty much anywhere you want to visit, including La Boca and Recoleta. The roof top view is stunning, and there fresh juices and water available for guests all the time (plus the pool is nice). We ate up there several times and the food was good. We had one snag with a hotel bill, but the reception staff were very helpful, asked for thirty minutes to figure it out, and they did (why you should check out the night before). Anyway, I would stay there again. They are under going renovations, and so will change at some point, but a wonderful hotel in DT Buenos Aires.
