We stayed here for a pre-night before a cruise. It's in the Recoleta area of Buenos Aires, which after seeing other areas is one of the best. It is located between two of the higher priced national chains so we went for this one. At over $450 per night, there should have been a bit more in the way of... More

From the time we arrived--at 5:00 AM until we left, we felt well cared for by the terrific staff at this lovely hotel. Our room was quiet, spacious, and nicely furnished. The free breakfast was a treat, including the best scrambled eggs ever. What made it especially nice was the public space, so that we were not confined to our... More

For perspective, I am a frequent U.S. business traveler (Platinum Marriott & Gold Hilton), and generally only travel out of the USA once a year. For service, Hotel Club Frances provided my wife & me the best service I can remember, including a few stays at The Ritz.. Mind you, I am not trying to compare Club Frances to the... More

I am one of the most particular people ever in choosing a hotel. After countless hours of research and comparison I chose the hotel Club Frances for a three night stay in Buenos Aires before a cruise I was taking around South America. I cannot say enough about this outstanding hotel. The ambiance is beautiful with wood paneling in the... More

Simply put, we had a fabulous experience at Hotel Club Frances. Even before checking in and communicating via email, the owner, M. Cristina Stegmann and her staff were so helpful and accommodating with questions about taxi pickup from the cruise ship port, arranging for our room to be ready for our early morning check-in and trying to book flights for... Plus The breakfast, the location, most of the staff, the lady at the breakfast place is fabulous. Minus Noisy ac, noisy traffic, kinda dull rooms, hopeless bar, bed linen just ok, no face cloths, no fridge in the room. Interesting Picture of napoleon over the bar, Recoleta is divine. Verdict - cf is ok but I'll probably pay more and... More

This is an upscale property that delivers highly personalized service and rooms that are luxury quality. We took multiple rooms at the property for a few nights and so got a good sense of the hotel. Suites and regular rooms are spotless and a good combination of classic and contemporary. Wifi is good in virtually all parts of the hotel.... More

My husband and I stayed here over Christmas and treated ourselves with an upgrade to the Executive Suite and from the moment we walked in, everything was perfect. The service was excellent, the staff truly go above and beyond to make sure that you are comfortable and that you have all the information that you need. I really can't say... More

It's a beautiful looking hotel but it just didn't deliver for the price. The location is fine quite close to the cemetery & a really safe area which is important in B/A! Depending on your age it would not suit everyone. The hotel furniture was really uncomfortable & bar area lacked any feeling of warmth. When we arrived we thought... More

This hotel is certainly located within an upscale neighborhood in BA. The rooms were nice and clean and spacious. This is where the positive reviews end. Service was terrible. Breakfast took way too long and the staff did not have a clue. For $400 a night I would expect a lot more than this. Would recommend a different place.

Staying in Recoleta

Neighborhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterized by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighborhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centered on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
