the hotel is ok, breakfast is the best thing Exercise room is not the best. Is well located if you want to go to the south side. other wise I'd choose in the Recoleta area. Has a garage, that's a plus.

It is not an hotel with some peculiarity but it is really well positioned, close to the historic San Telmo area, the very heart of Buenos Aires. The hall and the rooms are very spacious, the beds are comfortable and the room's services offers a quite complete range, from hairdryer to soaps, flat TV, safebox, minibar, good wifi connection. Nice rooms with comfortable king sized bed. Good bathroom. Clean. On the lower floors you can hear street noise and trains. Not impressed with the restaurant for dinner though. The staff behind the reception were generally not very helpful and on the whole did not have very good English.

I was so offended by the staff/management of this property prior to my stay I chose to stay elsewhere at additional expense. I can not comment on the property itself as I did not even check in. However, I did speak with an employee who was very rude. She initially refused to give me contact information to the manager only... More

We stayed here couple of days. The hotel has good location. Internet connection was all right. Front desk staff were nice. Room was big and clean, with all the required amenities. However, the walls are so thin! This was kind of a problem, since we could hear the people in the room next to ours talking every night.

In my view the Scala Hotel is in an excellent spot to stay when doing business in Buenos Aires. Although I stayed there only a few days I did get a good impression of this hotel. Breakfast could have a little bit more diversity, but I was good enough. Try the hamburger for lunch, it's good. The rooms are good... More

It is a good hotel, not so expensive, it is new, the location is ok, the service is average. I used to have serious WiFi problems, but this last time it was better (but can not say it was very good). The breakfast is very good. The menu options for dinner are limited and the food is good/average.

Stayed 11 days in the Scala Hotel. Rooms were very clean and Housekeeping staff went beyond their duty. Always with a smile and greetings. Replenished the supplies everyday including towels and clean sheets. Front desk could use a few more smiles but pleasant enough. Breakfast Buffet was worth the money. Food was yummy with a varied of eggs, bacon, pizza,... More

Staying in Montserrat

Neighborhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighborhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
