This is a delightful hotel in an excellent location for exploring the historic area of Buenos Aires. The hotel has been built with respect for the history that was uncovered while it was being built and displays much of the archeological artefacts found along with some striking art works. The room was a three part suite with an entry hall, huge bathroom and bedroom with very comfortable four post bed. The ceilings are very high giving a feeling of light and space. The excellent breakfast was served on the terrace which is enclosed with a wall of glass. When we left a camera in a taxi the staff tried very hard to help us locate the cab.

A stunningly beautiful building that is the most wonderful hotel. Fantastic staff that give individual service and treated us like family, not guests.
The rooms are gorgeous, huge and stylish with lovely amenities. The breakfast room is bathed in sunlight and offers great coffee and a tasty selection of foods.
The display of artifacts in the basement museum is interesting and well laid out.
The location of the hotel is fabulous, just minutes to San Telmo, Puerto Madero and an easy walk to the obelisko.
I highly recommend this hotel.

I can confidently recommend this wonderful hotel. The property is beautiful and edgy, with a mini museum in the basement and great restaurant right across the way. My room was spotless and beautifully high ceilings. One of the best things of this hotel was the staff that provided great friendly service. For example, while about to take an uber for a cooking class, knowing my Spanish is not so great, and with limited wifi service, one of the staff members came out to the uber and confirmed with the driver that they were clear on the destination so there were no issues, which speaks mountains to me while on this solo trip. I had an afternoon flight and they allowed for a later check out and arranged for a taxi pickup.

It's a beautiful boutique far from cookie cutter hotel, with a friendly staff. Once again I don't see how you can go wrong.

This is one of the most unique hotels we’ve ever visited. Part art gallery, part historical archeological dig, and part hotel, it is a wonderful experience. Unfortunately we only had one night here, and we did not get a chance to explore every inch of this place. Amazing art at every turn, gorgeous terraces for breakfast or lounging, and one of the best beds of our 2 week South America trip. We had a small balcony that we left open the night we arrived so we could listen to the saxophone player down the street as we drifted off to sleep. Next door is a fabulous restaurant - sit outdoors in the breezeway. Some of the best sushi we’ve ever had, in Buenos Aires of all places!

Amazing hotel! We ended our three week trip around Argentina this hotel. This was by far, hands down, a superior experience.
The charm alone would lure you in. We love boutique hotels for this reason.
It was clean, comfortable, had all the amenities needed including wash clothes! Air conditioning, comfortable beds, plenty of outlets for plugging in, upgraded towels, large bath with robes, large bedrooms, balcony, lovely hair and body bathroom products, great breakfast and charm galore with architectural museum of the building. The hotel was also adorned in beautiful art everywhere.
Cassa Lapage is located at the edge of San Telmo neighborhood with the Mercado, outdoor Mercado, tango and boutique shops. A fabulous seafood restaurant is right next door with ceviche and sushi. And a cafe with excellent pastries was steps away.

So, first impressions are important. And in the hospitality industry is probably one of the most important elements to getting things right and fostering a reputation.

This place managed to be possibly the worst welcome I’ve had in moons. Rude, and arrogant not just to me but other guests. You almost felt like you were in the way or asking someone for a favour.

It didn’t really get any better and all this made me feel unwelcome and awkward.

So the fact that it’s a low key place and rooms are immaculate sort of makes these positives moot. Such a shame really.

The concept of a art or museum is pretty spectacular, but if you’ve paid for a hotel experience and not the art museum thing then you may be disappointed.

It’s like an air b and b really with limited room amenities (no coffee or milk). Bathroom had soap and shower gel, that was it.

So on the whole rooms fantastic if a little sparse, staff, very mediocre, breakfast, limited and hostel like.

I don’t think I had my monies worth. Others may disagree.

Great location, beautiful building, big well appointed rooms with gorgeous period features.

The wi-fi was excellent and the historic character of the hotel well preserved. We loved the high ceilings and big wooden doors. The atmosphere of the hotel was serene and opulent.

The remodelling of this amazing old building into a hotel revealed dozens of underground structures and remains dating to the start of the 17th century. The hotel is an interesting building to walk around and incorporates an exhibition of the archaeological finds.

Nice and clean hotel in the center of Buenos Aires. Breakfast on the rooftop is perfect. The staff is always friendly and available for recommendations. The atmosphere is unique because of its art and history what is visible everywhere. The restaurant serves very delicious seafood.

Everything about the hotel was great. It was an oasis within Buenos Aires. Our room was very quiet and there were plenty of places within the hotel to relax. We hardly ever saw other guests. All the staff were very friendly especially Emmanuel and Raul and nothing was ever too much to ask. The breakfast offerings were well thought out. The hotel is in a quiet street and very close to many cafes and restaurants. I will certainly stay there again next time we go to Buenos Aires.
