From the outside this hotel does not look inviting at all due to a large amount of grafitti on the front. However, once inside staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good and had flexible times. The room we were in was in need of an update and bathroom was a bit mouldy (different to the pictures online). Towels were... More

We arrived at 5:30 in the morning but they let us check in and they gave us a room. The room is clean, a little small but very decent. The bed is comfortable and the showers are hot. The staff is very kind and very helpful. The breakfast consists of a couple of medialuna's pp, some slices of toast, orange... More

I felt like I was the only person that has ever stayed here, the host did everything to help me but seemed to have no idea what he was doing, so I changed rooms 3 times. Finally I got a nice room upstairs but the jacuzzi didnt work, the bath plug was broken, and the towels were stained. And the... More

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in May. The location was great (2 minutes from the nearest bar/coffee shop) and the host was very helpful. Most of the other staff didn't speak English, but were friendly. Our dingy room on the ground floor was very disappointing and was nothing like the photos on the website. I can only... More

I stayed at the Hotel Tiana for three nights in February, and unfortunately it did not meet the expectations set by several of the positive reviews I read before booking. I'll start with the pros: the large soaking bathtub is really great and the bed was comfortable, with many TV channels. Wifi worked OK! Now, for the less impressive aspects:... More

We greatly appreciated the size and comfort of the room. The location of the hotel is superb as it is from walking distance to Puerto Madero. Most of all, the service here is great. Susana will do her outmost to help you and provide great advice. All the staff members have been polite and nice with us. We felt just... More

We stayed at Tiana for two nights at the end of a three week trip to Argentina. The location in San Telmo can’t be beat as it is just a couple of blocks from Plaza Dorrego in the heart of San Telmo. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and they are laid out around a couple of atriums which let... More

The Tiana is a stylish and nice little hotel, where you can relax and find peace. It has a personal atmosphere, at least in 2012, when we stayed there. The owners are and recepcionists were very helpful and friendly. The rooms are very clean and have good nice furniture and decoration. I hope, that the prices are still good and... More

I had a great experience here. There were lovely courtyard gardens which made the space feel very open. Internet connection was somewhat poor in the room, but fine outside of the room. Bathroom could use a fresh coat of paint but I wasn't complaining given that there was a deep tub with jets in it. Bed was very comfy, room... More

Staying in San Telmo

Neighborhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
